Emmy Award winning THE AMAZING RACE returns to CBS tonight with a new episode called, “Working Our Barrels Off.” On tonight’s show in Detour A, Roller Derby moms Mona and Beth must prepare and eat Scotland’s national dish, Haggis, in order to receive the next clue. Did you watch the last episode? We did and we recapped it here for you.
On the last episode the race heads to Berlin, Germany where contestants experience the ultimate free fall and the ultimate underground rave. The final five teams are in Germany, where they plunge 37 stories through the Berlin sky and take a twisted journey through a psychedelic labyrinth. Bates & Anthony were team number four, Mona & Beth were the last team to arrive. There was bad news for Bates & Anthony said Phil, they have to continue racing with Mona & Beth because it was a non-elimination race – Phil was just joking about the bad news.
On tonight’s show with a chance to compete in the finale on the line, the final five teams race through Scotland, where they encounter a double U-turn that puts two teams in jeopardy of elimination.

RECAP: Berlin is the start of the tenth leg, Max & Katie are the first team to depart at 2:02 am and they are headed to Edinburgh, Scotland where they have to drive a Ford Fiesta to Gosford House and find their next clue. This leg has a U-Turn, teams better be careful. Teams arrive at the airport to find everything closed, but Katie & Max found a business center and they already have their tickets. Mona & Beth have extra stress, not only with the U-Turn but they also to complete a Speed Bump. There are two flights, the first arrives at 1:00pm, Max & Katie, Bates & Anthony, Caroline & Jennifer are on the first flight, Meghan & Joey and Mona & Beth are on the second flight.
Roadblock, working with an instructor teams have to learn how to play a harmonizing note on a bag pipe with the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Max is the first to finish and receive the next clue, search the fireplace at Craigmillar Castle. Bates & Anthony are in second place, the girls are in third at this point.
Mona & Beth, Joey & Meghan land in Scotland and only see two cars, they realize that the other three teams have arrived before them and are shocked.
After seven attempts Caroline & Jennifer are finally done at the Roadblock, Caroline had a really hard time but she did it in the end. Bates & Anthony are the first team to arrive and find their next clue, it’s a Detour. Teams must choose between Tasty Puddin’ or Whisky Rollin’. Bates & Anthony decide to do the Whisky Rollin’ and they have to roll eight 100 pound whisky barrels to a delivery area. Meanwhile, Max & Katie have decided to do the Tasty Puddin’ where they have to prepare Haggis, which is meat in a pig’s stomach.
Mona & Beth, Joey & Meghan finally arrive at the Roadblock. Mona finishes quickly, she and Beth are on to their Speed Bump when Meghan is still trying to carry a tune even though she used to play the trumpet when she was younger.
Bates & Anthony are done and have their next clue, they have to find Duddingston Kirk. Max & Katie have made their Haggis and tried it, they are just behind Bates & Anthony who have just U-Turned Joey & Meghan. Max & Katie decide to U-Turn Mona & Beth. Both teams are now headed to the Pit Stop at Niddry Street South.
After arriving last in the previous leg, Mona & Beth have to play Skittles, a Scottish version of bowling.
Max & Katie are team number one to arrive at the Pit Stop, they have won $10,000.00 each. Bates & Anthony are team number two. Caroline & Jennifer finished making their Haggis and are headed to the Pit Stop. Mona & Beth, Joey & Meghan all arrive at the castle at the same time. Mona & Beth want to shake Joey & Meghan, but there is no hope as they are following them so they will just have to do the Detour better than them. Meanwhile, Caroline & Jennifer are team number three to arrive at the Pit Stop.
It’s late night, Mona & Beth have finished their Haggis and are now rolling the whisky barrels, they have a clear advantage in front of Joey & Meghan. Mona & Beth are headed to the Pit Stop with Joey & Meghan just behind them. Basically this is all going to come down to who gets to the Pit Stop first.
Mona & Beth are team number four to arrive at the Pit Stop. The last team to arrive is Joey & Meghan, they are eliminated from the race.
