The waiting is far too long between episodes, but finally, our favorite show THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, is back with a new episode tonight. Tonight’s show is called, “The Originals,” and on tonight’s show we get a taste of the potential spinoff in a backdoor pilot. Joseph Morgan who plays Klaus had this to say about the potential show, “‘The Originals’ would be much more about vampires who like being vampires, there’s no sweet misguided teens who need saving here.” Did you watch last week’s episode? On the last episode after making a decision that infuriated Klaus, Elijah proposed a life-changing challenge for Rebekah. Caroline found that her carefully laid plans for the perfect Senior Prom night were disrupted by Elena, so she turned to an amused Klaus for a solution. Determined to get through to Elena, Damon and Stefan both attended the prom, but the evening began to spiral out of control despite their efforts.
On tonight’s show – KLAUS RETURNS TO HIS PAST IN NEW ORLEANS — Acting on a mysterious tip that a plot is brewing against him in New Orleans, Klaus makes a trip to the town he and his family helped build. Klaus’ questions lead him to a reunion with his former protégé, Marcel (guest star Charles Michael Davis), a charismatic vampire who has total control over the human and supernatural inhabitants of New Orleans. Determined to help his brother find redemption, Elijah follows Klaus and soon learns that Hayley (guest star Phoebe Tonkin) has also come to the French Quarter searching for clues to her family history, and has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch named Sophie (guest star Daniella Pineda).
Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Damon and Stefan continue with their plan for Elena, while Katherine reveals a surprising vulnerability to Rebekah and asks her to deliver a message. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Julie Plec.

Tonight’s show open’s with Damon and Stephen talking about how torturing Elena has not worked. Katherine showed up while they were talking and lets the boys know that Klaus is gone. She tells them Hayley was the best thing that happened to them, she made Klaus leave.
In New Orleans Hayley is looking for her family and she has had no success. Sophie Devereaux, in a bar sends her to the Bayou and tells her she will find information there.
We find out that the Sophie Devereaux is a witch and she took a hair from her, she wants the hair because she believes Hayley is the only way to get to Klaus.
She is heading to the Bayou by car and stops and looks at her map and all of a sudden her map goes up in flames. She jumps out of the car and calls a tow service. She hears a buzzing in her ears and see people walking towards her, she passes out.
A man is giving a tour of New Orleans and Klaus is walking in town.
Rebekah asks Elijah what Klaus is doing in New Orlean, Elijah tells her that witches are plotting against him.
Rebekah hopes the witches get him.
Klaus sits down with a witch and he asks if she knows where Jane Anne Devereaux is? She claims she does not. Klaus does not believe her, she tells him she does not talk out of school, that is Marcel’s rules. Klaus asks her where Marcel is.
Rebekah asks Elijah where he is going and he tells her he is going to go see who is after his brother and he is either going to hurt them or help them.
Klaus walks into a bar and sees Marcel and Marcel recognizes Klaus. Klaus walks toward Marcel and all the vampires in the bar stand in back of Marcel. Marcel tells him he wishes he knew he was coming to town, he would have thrown him a parade. Marcel was his mentor, his sire.
Klaus notices that some of Marcel’s vampire friends are day walkers and Klaus asks how he got a witch to do that. Marcel tells Klaus he has the witches in town wrapped around his family.
Klaus tells Marcel he is looking for a witch, Jane Anne Devereaux. Marcel tells him to go with him. He leads Klaus to Jane Anne. Marcel tells Jane Anne he has heard she has been performing magic, she denies it. Marcel tells her she is not allowed to do magic in his town. He tells her if she admits doing magic and lets him know what the magic is he will show her leniency. Jane Anne tells him to rot in hell. He turns his back and the turns back and cuts her throat, she falls to the ground bleeding as Klaus looks on.
Klaus asks him what was that, Marcel tells him that he got carried away. He promises Klaus that he can find out anything he wants to know. Klaus tells him it does not matter anymore. Klaus bumps into Jerry and he asks him if there are any more Devereaux witches.
Klaus walks into a room and Sophie Devereaux is there and he tells her he saw her sister being killed. She asks if he enjoyed it, he tells her it was a bit overdone.
Klaus wants to know about Jane Anne but Sophie tells Klaus it is Marcel’s town and if she talks he will kill her. Meanwhile Marcel has had men follow Klaus to see what he is up too. Klaus tells them to get lost.
Sophie Devereaux is in the basement and she has candles lit. Some of Marcel’s men come in and accuses her of performing magic. She denies it, they want to know what Klaus wanted with their sister. They threaten her and all of a sudden on of the men disappears and his heart drops on the floor. The second man ends up stabbed.
A man walks in and tells Sophie, he is Elijah and wants to know if she knows who he is. She says she does, Elijah asks what business she has with his brother.
Klaus is roaming the streets and back alley bars of New Orleans. He sees one of Marcel’s day walkers and asks him where Marcel is. The man won’t say so Klaus threatens to bit him. Marcel shows up and tells Klaus no one hurts his men. Klaus wants to know why he has been having him followed. Klaus wants to know what Marcel has been up to in his town.
Marcel takes Klaus upstairs and shows him the view and tells him that the town is growing and he has complete control over the witches. Klaus wants to know how? He is not telling.
As they are looking Marcel sees a girl walking, the bartender from the bar. Marcel jumps down to meet her.
Klaus says all of a sudden, “good evening Elijah”
Klaus tells him he wants to find out who is plotting against him? Elijah tells him he knows and he wants Klaus to come with him.
Elijah brings Klaus to see Sophie and she tells Klaus that they want Klaus to help them take Marcel down. Klaus refuses to help, Sophie tells Klaus she has a special gift she can tells things.
Hayley walks in, Sophie tells Klaus she is pregnant. Hayley tells Klaus she is carrying his baby. Elijah confirms Hayley is carrying Klaus’ baby……. Wowser, wonder how Caroline is going to take that news???
Klaus does not believe it because Vampires cannot procreate. They tell him werewolf can. Jane Anne gave her life to confirm that Hayley was pregnant. Sophie tells Klaus if he does not help them take Marcel down Hayley won’t see her first maternity dress.
Klaus freaks out and tells them he will not hear anymore lies. Elijah tells him to listen. Klaus listens and hears the babies heart beat. Klaus tells them to kill Hayley and the baby he does not care and he walks away.
Elijah follows him and Klaus tells him it is a trick. Elijah tells him it is a gift. All they ever wanted was a family. Klaus tells Elijah he does not want to be manipulated. Klaus threatens to kill everyone. Elijah asks him if he wants to go back to Mystic Falls where everyone hates him.
Klaus tells him a baby won’t bring him power. Elijah tells Klaus a baby is family and family is power. Elijah vows to help Klaus and stand by him and they will build the town together. They will save the girl and Klaus’ baby. Klaus looks at Elijah and says, NO.
Elijah calls Rebekah and tells her about how Klaus is running away from being saved. Rebekah does not know why Elijah bothers. Elijah tells Rebekah that Klaus’ baby is good for everyone. Katherine is behind Rebekah listening and she tells Rebkah that Elijah won’t give up. She knows because Elijah is just like her, alone and they don’t like it.
Klaus goes to see Marcel and demands that he tell him what he has with the witches. Marcel tells Klaus he won’t tell him because it is his secret and his town.
Klaus is not pleased, he tells Marcel it was his town. Marcel asks Klaus if he is jealous. He tells Klaus he was run out of town. Marcel brags how the vampires rule and he controls the witches. Marcel tells him he can stay in his town but he is the King and Klaus better show him respect. The other vampires surround him. Klaus runs over to one of Marcel’s vampires and bites them. He tells Marcel his friend will die before the weekend. He tells Marcel he has broken one of his rules and then says, “Who has the power now friend?”
Klaus walks through the town and sees the girl/bartender that Marcel jumped down to meet. Klaus calls her the brave girl and she tells him her name is Camille, but he can call her Cami.
They are watching a painter and Cami tells Klaus what the man painting is thinking. It is almost as if she is describing Klaus. She says the man is, lost and alone. Cami turns around and Klaus is gone.
Klaus is sitting does and Elijah shows up. Klaus asks Elijah if he is there to give him a pep talk about the joys of fatherhood.
Klaus tells him he forgot how much he loved the town. Elijah tells him he did not.
Klaus tells Elijah for 1,000 years he lived in fear whenever he settled down his father would hunt him down, he made him feel powerless.
Now in his absence from New Orleans, Marcel has everything Klaus ever wanted, power, family.. Klaus wants to be King.
Elijah asks about the baby and Klaus replies, “Every king needs an heir!”
Sophie tells Elijah that Klaus needs to cement his place in Marcel’s world.
Klaus comes to see Marcel and tells him he is not his enemy. Klaus gives Marcel his blood for the man he bit and tells him his blood will heal him like it never happen.
Klaus tells Marcel the Quarter is Marcel’s home and he would like to stay awhile, if he is welcome.
Elijah is walking in the town and calls Caroline and tells him he is standing in his most favorite places in the world and all he can think about is how much he wants to bring her there.
Elijah comes to see Rebekah and tells her, her family needs her, the choice is hers. Rebekah tells Elijah she owes Klaus nothing and she is not going with him. Rebekah walks away.
Katherine comes in and tells Elijah that Rebekah is right. Katherine lost so much to Klaus. She tells Elijah it is their turn. Elijah kissed her, says goodbye and walks out.
Damon comes into see Elena, he tells her she looks horrible. Elena tells Damon that she is hungry. He gives her a bag of blood, she grabs it and drinks it and then starts spitting it up, it is laced with vervain.
She gets mad and tells them if they want to keep playing they will see who breaks first.
