The Walking Dead RECAP 10/27/13: Season 4 Episode 3 “Isolation”

Tonight on AMC THE WALKING DEAD continues with all its gory goodness.  Tonight’s episode is called, “Isolation” and on tonight’s show the remaining members of the group deal with recent losses.  If you happened to miss the last episode, don’t worry. On last week’s show the group faced a new threat they found someone was feeding rats to the Walker.  Once all the Walkers found out about the food souce, they started to push on the fence and Rick had to come up with a way to lure them away.  The young boy who got sick two week’s ago walked the prison as a zombie and the group soon realized the boy was not bitten.  There was an infection going around D block and the survivors were confused and scared.

On tonight’s show a group leaves the prison to search for supplies; the remaining members of the group deal with recent losses.  Rick becomes a man very much forced back into the middle of things and back in the leadership role.  He realizes he has to pick up a gun again.  Andrew Lincoln who plays Rick said this about the episode, “Episode 3′s an extraordinary episode for so many reasons.”  Can’t wait to see it!

RECAP: Glenn is digging a grave; you see they placed Patrick’s glasses on his cross. Maggie is also digging a grave with Glenn; the doctors in the prison including Hershel are checking if more people are sick. They found a person dead in his bed in the morning. Tyreese tells Daryl and Rick about how he found Karen burnt outside; someone dragged them out and he wants Rick to find them and wants him to find the one responsible. Tyreese slams Daryl against the fence when touched; Rick tells him they have all lost someone and that he has to calm down. Tyreese punches Rick in the face and Daryl jumps Tyreese; Rick then beats the crap out of Tyreese. Daryl stops Rick from punching Tyreese.

Hershel is cleaning Rick’s wound on his fist; Hershel tells him to take it easy and that he’s fine. Rick says that it hurts; Hershel says that it’s horrible what has happened and tells Rick there is a council meeting tomorrow.

Hershel mentions that he has responsibilities and the they must keep everyone safe. Tyreese is out digging a grave as Bob comes to see him; he offers to clean him up and give him stitches. Tyreese says he will do so after he’s done digging the graves; Bob picks up a shovel and starts digging with him. Glenn says that they could be okay from the sickness but Hershel mentions it is possible that they might not be. Glenn says that with this sickness they are just digging graves. Sasha comes out and she is feeling very sick; she looks pretty bad. Sasha goes into the cell block looking for a doctor, she is seeing the other sick people and is getting afraid. She notices a walker in the block; the doctor is also sick. At the council meeting Hershel has decided they have to stay away from those who are sick; Hershel says they need antibiotics to survive the illness. Darryl and Michonne have offered to go out and find the medicine they need; Hershel says that they will have to separate the vulnerable people like the kids and the old. Carol is trying to get some water but it’s all mud; Rick says they can clear the mud tomorrow and that it can be tomorrows problem. Carol says Rick should talk to Tyreese, Rick walks over to Tyreese who has just finished burying Karen and David. Rick says he’s sorry about what happened and what he did to him; Tyreese says it’s on both of them and that he must find who did it. Rick questions if anyone had a problem with them; Rick says who ever did the murdering was probably trying to stop the spreading of the disease. Tyreese says Rick isn’t trying hard enough right now, Rick tells him they have to make sure the people get better first. Rick puts Carl into quarantine with the other kids; he wants Carl to protect them and that he can fire the gun if it is needed. Glenn is feeling very sick and doesn’t look good at all; Maggie finds him and he tells her he has the disease.

Daryl is packing the truck with Michonne and says he’s glad she is here; Michonne mentions if it’s going to be just her and him; Daryl says that Bob will be joining them as well but they should have on more person. Tyreese looks at the sick and Daryl comes over to him asking if he would like to go with him for medicine. Hershel is looking at one of his mugs and seems very conflicted; he leaves his room and Carl asks what he’s doing. Carl confronts him and Hershel says to stay away from him and that he is going to the woods; he doesn’t need anyone to tell him to not go and that he will be gone before anyone finds him. Carl tells him he has to go with him if he’s going; Carol is leading people into the sick part of the cell block. Lizzie says she doesn’t feel good and Carol tells her not to worry and that she will get better; Carol goes and lets her into the sick block as well. She comes back and gives Carol a hug in fear but Carol tells her it will be okay and that she should go. Right after Carol closes the door she starts to cry; Maggie is talking to Beth behind the door and mentions how Glenn has the sickness. Beth tells her they have jobs to do and have no time to be upset. Beth tells her to focus on what she has to do and no matter what happens they will deal with it. Carl and Hershel are out in the forest; Hershel asks when Carl got his gun back. Carl mentions how Rick gave it to him after all the problems, Hershel says it’s peaceful outside and that he’d be fine alone. Carl says they are not safe and finds a tent; Carl walks around and finds a walker who’s still alive but split in half. Another walker with a bear trap on her leg comes out as well walking after them; Carl goes to shoot her and Hershel says that he doesn’t need to shoot her.

Tyreese is talking to Sasha from a window and she says it’s not to bad and that she is sorry about Karen. Tyreese tells her to stay positive and to keep trying to make it through this sickness; Sasha says it’s far. Tyreese says he has to go and tells her to rest; Bob and Daryl are working on the car and fix it all up. Daryl says they need Bob to find the medicine needed; Tyreese says he’s game for the mission and just needs to grab his gear. Carol is getting more water for those who are sick; Tyreese scares her and asks if she can keep an eye on Sasha while he is gone.
Carol then throws the bucket of water away looking really upset, she then pushes over all the water and then realizes what a stupid thing she did. She just looks so frustrated and pissed; Hershel is walking outside and Maggie questions it. Hershel says he’s no good in quarantine and that he can keep the sick people stable. Maggie says she can’t let him do it, Hershel says he must do it. Rick comes on over and Hershel says that he can help those who are sick and he knows he can and that he must do it; Rick starts disagreeing with it. Hershel says that even if you step outside you risk your life and the same goes for drinking water and breathing; but what matters is what you risk it for and if he can save lives then he is fine. Hershel picks up his crate and walks over to the room, Maggie lets him in but looks very upset about it.

Beth tells Maggie that daddy is gone and that she knows where; Beth believes they all have jobs to do and that they will deal with it. Beth is crying behind the door and says they can’t get upset. Rick is on the roof looking for evidence for the murder of Karen and David. Outside Carol is pulling the mud out of the water supply; Rick notices her trying to get it out and the walkers are are walking over to her. Rick starts rushing down to Carol; Rick tells her to run as he is srinting on over to her. Rick opens the fence and runs out to shoot the walkers around Carol. He helps her back in and she says it was a piece of cake. Daryl, Michonne, Bob and Tyreese are driving down the road and Daryl mentions that the trail for the Governor has gone cold and that Michonne should stop spending time looking for him; Daryl works the radio and e message comes through. It’s someone asking something about people being alive; Daryl crashes into a walker and stops the car. In front of them is a swarm of walkers who are gathering on the car. Daryl tells them to grab something and starts running walkers over but the car gets stuck on the bodies they ran over. Daryl gets out with his crossbow and follows Michonne with her sword slicing them up. Bob gets out as well and starts shooting at the walkers; Tyreese is still in the car not budging whatsoever. Bob tells him to get out and Tyreese rushes out with a hammer and is getting swamers by all the walkers. Tyreese is just smashing one by one in the head; Daryl, Bob and Michonne run for it.

The three are running deeper into the forest; they reach a safer area and Daryl loads his crossbow telling them to hold up. Daryl points it at the forest and notices a couple of walker but Tyreese comes out and smashes them in the head from behind. Hershel is passing his medicinal tea to the sick people. The doctor tells Hershel he shouldn’t be here and coughs some blood on Hershel; Hershel takes off his mask and wipes his face.He tells the doctor that he would do the exact same thing. Hershel gives some to Glenn who is having trouble moving; he can’t believe after all that has happened that a cold is going to kill him. Hershel tells him to be more positive and that if they got this far then this is nothing. Carol brings some water over to refill the supply; Rick calls her stupid for doing what she did. Carol agrees that it was; Rick says that she does a lot for them and the kids. Rick then asks if there is nothing she wouldn’t do for the people here and Carol says no; Rick then asks if she killed Karen and David. Carol says yes right away and walks away from Rick.
