Tonight’s episode of Gypsy Sisters begins with Kayla driving around in her new car. Kayla heads out on an ice cream date with her daughters Sissy and Danielle since she hasn’t seen much of them since she split up with their father Richard. Danielle reveals that since Kayla left she has been cooking for Richard, cleaning the house, and making Richard’s ben for him. Kayla is annoyed because Danielle is only 15, and it isn’t fair that she has to play the part of a house wife. Danielle reassures her that Kayla is doing the right thing by living in a motel, because she can’t condone Richard’s behavior. Kayla reveals that she is taking a vacation and going to New Orleans for a week. Her daughters think a vacation is a good idea, and Kayla deserves to get away for a week.

Nettie, Mellie, and JoAnn are riding around in their truck and arguing about planning Mellie and Kayla’s birthday dinner. Mellie argues that they need to have a mail stripper. JoAnn and Nettie are scared about flying to New Orleans because they have never been on a plane before. They arrive at the animal shelter where they will be volunteering. JoAnn and Nettie joke that Mellie is just like a pitbull, she has a bad rep but she is sweet on the inside.

Mellie heads home to pack for New Orleans, but this is the first time she has ever left her baby Richard. While she is packing she finally gets him to crawl across the floor for the first time. JoAnn waited until the last second to pack, and she has a serious problem trying to get all of her shoes in the bag. She and Nettie stress about getting on the plane. Kayla and Annie meet up at Nettie’s house and they all pack their bags in to the van.

They arrive at the airport, and manage to board the plane without any drama. They land in New Orleans and JoAnn brags that she “cheated death.” Nettie is exhausted and tired of going through security and trying to find her luggage, she just wants to get out of the airport. They take a cab, and Kayla reveals that she rented them a mansion to stay in. They all squeal with excitement when they arrive at the mansion and rush through the doors to check out the house. They find a skeleton figuring and are convinced that it is a voodoo doll, they carry it outside and set it in front of the house because they don’t want to sleep in the house with it.

The next morning they get up and get dressed, and Kayla reveals that she arranged a horse and carriage to give them a tour of Bourbon Street. Afterwards they are going to go out for Mellie and Kayla’s birthday dinner. Nettie starts pounding shots of rum in the taxi and calls her husband to tell him that she is already drunk.

Nettie, Mellie, Kayla, Annie, and JoAnn board the horse and carriage and the driver gives them a tour and explains voodoo and Mardi Gras to them. She tells them not to worry about the voodoo dolls in the mansion they are staying in. After their tour they stop at a café, and then they find a daiquiri bar. Nettie can’t believe it is “like a slushie place for grown-ups.” They all get a drink and then JoAnn rushes them to the stores on Bourbon Street because she came to shop not drink. Mellie picks out beaded necklaces, tutus, and masks for everyone to wear.

They head out to dinner with their costumes on, and Nettie is a hot drunk mess. They order more shots, and then Nettie decides that they should try New Orleans food. The waiter brings them a tray of oysters and they all start gagging, they squeal that it looks like a “snot ball in a shell.” Next the waiter brings them out a tray of gumbo. Annie says she is leaving to get some real American food. Nettie grabs a tray of food off from someone else’s table and starts eating it. Meanwhile, Kayla is shocked to see that Richard keeps texting her, and telling her she can’t go out and party in New Orleans. Nettie is sick of Richard’s crap and says that she is going to call him and tell him to leave Kayla alone.

Nettie convinces Kayla to take shots with her, and neither of them ever usually drink. They try to walk out of the restaurant, and Nettie and Kayla both fall through the swinging doors. Mellie convinces them to sit back down at the table, and does to the bar to get them another round of shots. The waitress finally brings them some “normal American food” and Mellie is relieved because Nettie and Kayla really need some food in their stomachs to sober up. JoAnn has had enough of drunk Nettie, and convinces everyone to leave the restaurant. As they are heading home, JoAnn informs them that she isn’t going to the bar with them and she is going to go home and get some sleep. Nettie and Kayla stumble down the street slurring about how much they love each other.

THE END!
