LIVE:

The ladies were leaving New Orleans when Nettie wanted to do just one more thing before they left and that was to eat crawfish boil. None of them had ever tried it before so they all went to a restaurant that specializes in it and even from the get-go they weren’t feeling the place. Technically, there wasn’t anything wrong with the restaurant, but these proud Virginian girls didn’t like that their table was covered in newspapers. Nor did they enjoy the reason behind it.

Crawfish boil is served straight from the pot to literally the table. As in no plates and they were expected to eat their food with their hands. And that wasn’t even the worst part. Once the ladies saw what crawfish looked like in person – it disgusted them. So they ended up going with the chicken fingers option.

The trip was over, but coming back home meant different things to each of them. Some of the ladies were just happy to go home. While someone like Kayla was quietly freaking about what she was going back home to. Her marriage is at a turning point and she doesn’t know what she’s going to do next.

As for Mellie, she had to think about her son. His first birthday was coming up and she wanted to throw him a party. However a gypsy party (no matter the event) requires a large celebration so Mellie invited Dallas to have a joint party with her for both of their babies. And though that’s going to help in the long run towards costs– she still needed some extra money to buy her son an outfit for his birthday. Hence Mellie sold her wedding ring.

Mellie’s ex in her own words is a bum. He doesn’t help out as much as he should so that’s kind of left her taking sole responsibility for their kid. But she has her sisters and they’ve never let her down. Nettie and JoAnn are going to help set up the party and Mellie knows that whenever she needs them – they’re going to be there for her.

That’s how gypsies operate. They don’t like being alone so it’s better to always have someone to turn to!

And seeing as that’s how they are – Nettie has become seriously worried about Kayla. Kayla’s marriage is falling apart but she’s not doing a lot to save it. According to family, her husband has been calling her and she’s been ignoring him. And for someone who says she wants her marriage to work wouldn’t the best chance of that begin with communication.

Because she’s been speaking to everyone other than her husband. She talks about her marriage to Nettie and to her sister. And, well, what about Richard? Her sister Annie can’t act as her unofficial sounding board anymore. Annie had spent so much time focusing on helping her sister that her own marriage began to feel the strain. So eventually Kayla had to call her husband and make the first step in working things out. She hadn’t liked the feedback she got during the phone call yet it was still something which is better than nothing.

Later, the birthday party for the babies starts and true to form all hell breaks loose. Nettie and JoAnn had arranged a wonderful party for the tiny tots with catered food and its own petting zoo. But Dallas came to the party in a terrible mood.

What first upset her was that she hadn’t gotten her son an outfit like Mellie did with her boy. So she chose at the last minute to bedazzle a little suit for him. By last minute – I meant during the party. Then it took her forever to get ready and so when they returned – halfway through – Nettie didn’t feel like dealing with her daughter’s temper. And Dallas had a mouth to match the temper.

She started arguing with her mom and would have kept on arguing if Nettie hadn’t put a stop it by just walking away. Thankfully, someone remembered it was a birthday party. And after that they were all able to enjoy themselves.
Plus the kids looked especially cute covered in cake.
