It really sucks when the marriage that you sign on for ends up looking nothing like the reality that you’re living with. Jennifer Garner might know this better than most other Hollywood starlet’s that are half of an industry power couple. When she and Ben Affleck got together 10 years ago he appeared to be a changed man. Gone was the hard-partying, stripper-loving, cardshark that almost married J-Lo and instead there was just Ben, doting boyfriend who was struggling to revive his career. Jen watched him focus on work and in the early years she was perfectly content to stay at home with their babies while he worked. The problem is that as Ben’s behavior began to backslide then Jen’s resentment grew.
According to the May 19th print edition of Star Magazine Jen got married intending to be an equal half, not to have a grown man to chase after like a baby. In a nutshell she simply doesn’t trust him and nowhere was that more evident than at a card table in Vegas where Ben lost several grand as Jen nursed a small drink looking miserable. She has had a hard enough time taking a backseat to Ben’s career but to watch as his old demons come back has pushed the marriage to the brink.
Let’s not forget that Jen’s career was a lot hotter than Ben’s and she chose to take a breather from it thinking that eventually Ben would take a turn with the kids so that she can really work again. Instead he has taking more work for himself and then embarrassing his family by his bad behavior. Jen didn’t put her career on hold to make it easier for Ben to gamble and her resentment is now boiling over. Sources say that these two fight nonstop now when they are stuck at home together.
