Kerry Washington has always kind of proved that you can work in Hollywood and still lead a private life. Even now, she’s one of the hottest actresses in prime time television and still she usually flies below the radar. It kind of makes you rethink the other stars who complain about paparazzi trailing them everywhere. I mean obviously sometimes the paps do overstep their bounds and I’m sure it sucks not to be able to grab coffee incognito, but Kerry does show that you can have a private life if you really want one.
That’s probably why she pulled off a surprise wedding last June 24th to Nnamdi Asomugha, a former NFL player. Even those close to Kerry were said to be surprised by her swapping vows as he has long been plagued by those gay rumors. They hardly seem to have a typical marriage and Kerry is nearly always alone on the red carpet for Hollywood events. It has led to speculation that the couple is already on the rocks and if you do happen to catch them together they seem to give off a weird vibe. Something is surely up but no one has dared to go out on a limb to pinpoint it.
Kerry is a really smart woman and my guess is that this entire situation is completely by design. Are she and Nnamdi a typical love match? We don’t know, but it is clear that they are at least very good friends – good enough to share parenting duties. Kerry has had a string of long-term relationships that didn’t work and perhaps she got really tired of looking for Mr. Right, the love of her life. Instead she found Nnamdi who is obviously a comfort to her and she obviously is providing him with something he needs as well.
Think about it. If they are just a modern kind of couple very much on the same page with a lot of things, but not exactly in love then this almost makes sense. She wouldn’t have him attached to her arm at all times and he wouldn’t necessarily need to show off his pregnant wife every chance he gets because it’s just not like that. Seeing them as good friends making a calculated lifestyle choice seems a whole lot more plausible than believing that they are head over heels in love, doesn’t it? Do Kerry and Nnamdi give off the vibe of lovebirds to you? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
