Guys like Bellamy don’t let things go. They find a mystery and always end up pursuing it. An admirable trait if ever there was one though it does have a tendency to be seen as a flaw by the same people trying their best to bury their secrets.

And, thankfully, Fred ultimately saw the value in having someone like Bellamy on his side.  Surprisingly what pushed him to asking for assistance was the fact he had to pass the bone, the one he had found back in the factory, off to someone and who better to than Bellamy.

Fred knows his mother is hiding the truth from him but he figured Bellamy will have better luck at investigating the bodies they had found. Margaret can stonewall her son easily enough. Yet an actual federal agent might just give her a run for her money.

At least that what’s the two men with the badges thought. Though, as it turns out, Margaret can be a pretty tough cookie. She has been holding onto some long buried secrets for quite a significant amount of time now and so she’s fully prepared to blackmail Bellamy if he keeps pushing her for answers.

How is Margaret, a newly returned dead woman, able to blackmail someone she’s recently met? Well, she apparently got her hands on some pertinent information. She had threatened to reveal a secret of his after he had asked her “why the returned stopped coming back”. But if it’s about that time he gave the secret task force the bodies of the Langston workers – then that one expired! Maggie already knows about it. And she had guessed that one by herself.

So her beloved grandmother is simply going to have to find a new tactic!

If that is the secret she was talking about. But who knows with Margaret. Sometimes she appears to be a good person and often enough she comes across as the villain.

At the same time as all of this is happening; a sickness began to spread among the returned. At first it didn’t seem that bad. Yet as time went on and more and more people started to feel the effects. So Bellamy had to cave and call in the government.

It was the last thing he wanted to do but he thought they would offer their help or at the very most get the small town doctor dealing with the returned some extra pain reliever. It’s not like her little practice is prepared to face the onslaught of patients. However it looks like the agency in charge had found out about the sickness in advance and just chose to ignore it. Almost as if they didn’t care.

As for the illness, it revealed something. If the returned got to the point where they didn’t want to live then they can leave.  Go back to wherever they came from – it’s as simple as that. They can choose to stay or to go.

And that’s how Margaret got rid of her pesky daughter-in-law Barbra. Barbra was bonding with her daughter and with Fred. Which Margaret didn’t like so she asked to see her alone and once she did – she went in on Barbra. She tore down the other’s woman self-esteem till Barbra felt like she didn’t deserve to still be alive.

Hence Barbra let go. She wished to leave and she did. But someone had seen Barbra’s interaction with Margaret. And that person was a friend of Maggie’s so it’s not going to take long for the entire Langston family to hear about what Margaret did.
She got rid of a returned!

And because of that – Bellamy won’t let her slip through his fingers a second time!

THE END!
