SWITCHED AT BIRTH returns to ABC Family tonight with a brand new episode called “Love Seduces Innocence, Pleasure Entraps, and Remorse Follows.” In it Kathryn’s book is leaked before it’s published. Meanwhile, Bay is skeptical about Emmett’s new girlfriend; Daphne has an unexpected encounter at the clinic with someone from her past; and Regina feels a sense of guilt about her behavior.
On the last episode Toby got an unexpected visit from Nikki. On tonight’s episode Bay sets out to find out the real story behind Emmett’s girlfriend. Daphne questions her ability to volunteer at the clinic when she runs into someone from her past. Feeling guilty about her actions, Regina takes a chance at work. Meanwhile, Kathryn is shocked to discover that her book has been leaked ahead of publication. RECAP: Daphne and Campbell are making out with each other in the store room; Jorje accidentally opens the door looking for something and sees them in the act. Jorje closes the door and leaves. Bay is telling Emmett that the photo Mandy took isn’t real, that it’s a fake. Emmett doesn’t understand what Bay is doing; he says that she’s trying to sabotage his happiness. Bay says she doesn’t want to see him get hurt, Emmett tells her he’s find and happy. Bay then brings up that they’ve never met before; turns out Emmett will be meeting her tomorrow and doesn’t want Bay in his business anymore. Jorje is talking to Daphne about what he saw, he says he’s not happy about it, but they need to work together before her volunteer work is over. Turns out she wants to volunteer more afterwards, Jorje says that it’s cool, but to spare him from seeing that again. Regina is talking to her boss, saying that they’re not being fair to the business owners giving them false information; he tells her that’s fine he’ll get someone else to do it and wants her to finish her job. Bay is looking at her laptop; Tank scares her from behind catching her off guard. Bay tells her that she’s been looking into her friend Emmett’s girlfriend Mandy that he met on the internet and that she can’t find her name anywhere but on the site he met her on. Tank asks for an image of her, then tells her that she can search the image and see if there’s more or if it’s fake. Katherine tells John that her book has been leaked; she thinks it could have been Lorenzo. Daphne is in the elevator, when a guy walks in and it’s someone she knows who stole from the last place she worked at.
Jorje tells Daphne and Campbell that the guy is gone; the guy attacked her last year. Campbell holds Daphne’s hand to comfort her; Jorje sees this and tells her that it’ll be fine. Campbell says that he’ll kick that guy’s ass if needed, Jorje tells him not to worry that he’s got it covered. Daphne says that guy shouldn’t be treated; Jorje says that it’s his job to help people no matter who they are. Daphne then asks if this is to get back at her for being with Campbell, Jorje tells her that she won’t be able to make it in the medicine career if she can’t help anyone that comes in looking for help. Kathryn asks Lorenzo if he leaked her book, he declines and is offended by it making him leave. Emmett is talking to Travis; he’s telling him that he’s going to leave school early to meet his online girlfriend Mandy in person. Melody found out that Emmett got a D in History; she’s not pleased by this and blames Mandy for this happening. Emmett gets pissed off and tells her to back off, Melody blows up and tells him she’ll take away his bike and phone if he gets one more bad grade. Emmett makes the wrong choice and says he can’t wait to leave walking away. Daphne talks to a man about how she can’t finish her service at the clinic if the man who attacked her is there, the man says there’s nothing for him to do and she needs to finish her service. Regina tells her mom that she was being used; her mom tells her that she also being spoken about by others that she’s sleeping with her boss. Regina’s mom wants her to fight back. John walks into Toby’s home, he finds Toby looking depressed. John asks him what happened; Toby explains how he was right. That everyone tried to tell him that him and Nicky wouldn’t work out, John tells him that he wish he was wrong. John tells Toby that he tried, that what he’s doing right now takes courage; to recognize this and to move on. Toby doesn’t like being divorced at 19; he wants to be with Nicky. John tells Toby that he and his mom will get rid of the lease for his house and have him move back in. Tank shows Bay how to find out who Mandy is using the image search, they found out Mandy isn’t who she is. Tank says that they should stake out cheerleader practice at Hayward tomorrow.
Regina goes to get her nails done; she mentions how she’s going to be sad to see this nail salon go. Regina asks if she signed anything yet, she says that if she didn’t she should get the contract looked at to make sure it’s worth what it’s getting. Daphne is baking something; Angelo comes from behind and scares her accidentally. Daphne offers him a brownie and they then begin to talk, Daphne wants to work at the restaurant once it’s open. Angelo asks about her working in medicine, she then tells him that one of the guys who attacked her on the food truck came into the clinic. She doesn’t want to see him or think of him again, it got her thinking that she might not be cut out for medicine. She doesn’t want to work on a rapist or a murderer; she then says that cooking is what she’s loved from the beginning. Angelo says that she can work. Tank and Bay are staking out somewhere, Tank then says he needs to go the frat house; Bay then asks how she can call these pledge brothers her friends if they never stand up for him. Tank wants to know why she keeps insulting his fraternity, Tank gets pissed off and walks away. John tells Kathryn that he’s let Toby to come back home, Toby then asks for the passport in the study. Toby says that he’s going to give it his all and that he’ll go to Peru to change those circumstances. Toby doesn’t want to be talked out of it, he wants to save his marriage and help people. Regina’s boss is pissed off at her because he knows that she’s been talking to businesses, he wants to sue her for what she’s doing. He ends calling security and up firing Regina, saying that he wants a cashier check too.
Kathryn is at dance warming up, Lorenzo comes up to her; she apologizes to Lorenzo for accusing him. Lorenzo asks if she wants to skip class and eat a huge cinnamon roll, she tells her about how her son is going to Peru and that her book is ruined. Kathryn doesn’t want her book to suck and end up ruining her name because it’s on it. Lorenzo tells her that she shouldn’t worry about what everyone thinks, because she needs to get out of her comfort zone. Angelo is upset finding out that Regina is $50,000 in debt, they end up fighting about it. Melody finds Emmett at his locker and asks for his phone and keys. Bay is waiting in her car, she then sees the girl that they saw in the images after searching Mandy’s image on the internet. Bay goes up to the girl and asks if her name is Mandy, turns out that the girl isn’t Mandy at all; Bay explains how a friend of hers thinks he’s in a relationship with her, she then mentions that her cousin is depth and that they could know each other. Bay tries to call Emmett, but his phone isn’t on him; he ends up hotwiring his motorcycle to work. Daphne is working, she finds the guy who attacked her behind her asking for a doctor; he seems to be in a lot of trouble. Daphne runs to go get a doctor.
Daphne sees Jorje and tells him that the guy is back, Jorje tells the man that he’ll help him out; it seems that he can’t breathe properly; he’s going through heroin with drawl. Jorje asks her to find someone to assist, Daphne offers to do it. Daphne is trying to hold Adam still; Jorje puts the IV into him. Daphne tells Adam to look at her and focus on her while Jorje works, Jorje ends up saving him just in time. Toby is packing for Peru, Kathryn talks to Toby about going to Peru; Toby is heading there tonight, he’s trying to pack fast and then change his currency afterwards. Kathryn tells Toby that he’ll end up resenting her, if he only goes to Peru for her and not himself. Toby can’t spend his life working at a carwash to come home to an apartment where he’s got no wife. Toby doesn’t know what he should do now, Kathryn tells him that he’s amazing and has his whole life ahead of him. Kathryn tells him that when a door closes, a window of opportunity opens. Emmett goes to the meeting area where he’s supposed to meet Mandy, Emmett sees a picnic basket with wine, and he opens the basket and sees a cat fish there. Turns out that there is no Mandy, it was a guy faking to be Mandy because of how Emmett screwed with him before. The guy and Emmett end up fighting each other, sadly Emmett loses and has his photo taken by the guy and he walks away. Leaving Emmett on the ground.
Toby is asking for a refund for the ticket he bought to go to Peru, turns out that he can’t refund his ticket. Daphne asks Jorje how Adam is doing. Adam is doing fine; Jorje tells her that she is very brave for what she did. Jorje tells Daphne that she will be a great doctor. Kathryn found out that her editor leaked the book for her, so that she can get more publicity. John has a note from Toby; he’s going to go to Iceland. Daphne tells Regina how she’s doing, that she wants to be a doctor. Regina tells Daphne that she quit her job, but before that the window near Daphne shattered. Turns out someone threw a brick through the window. Bay arrives at where Emmett is. Tank is walking he sees Mary Beth; he ends up going to talk to her. Tank wants to tell her that he depledged his fraternity, that everything Bay said sunk in to him and that he’s shocked he went through it. Tank doesn’t want her to tell Bay, he wants to tell her himself. Tank walks off, Mary Beth is feeling happy. Bay finds Emmett who’s completely beaten up. Emmett is upset because he was filmed and that it could be posted onto the internet, he doesn’t want the whole school or world to know. Bay says that it doesn’t matter that everyone loves him; he then asks if Bay loves him. Bay then says that she came here after knowing Emmett was trying to chase another girl, she then says that he knows she loves him and that she has never stopped. Bay and Emmet kiss and it looks like they’re going to take it further than that.
