Tonight on NBC the Emmy award winning music competition The Voice returns with an all new Monday September 22, season 7 premiere episode called, “The Blind Auditions.” On tonight’s episode, the seventh season of The Voice, new rookie judges Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams will be going up against veteran judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to each create a team of artists who they believe have the potential of becoming “The Voice.”

On the last season’s finale, Josh Kaufman, Christina Grimmie and Jake Worthington performed live in front of coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher; only one winner was crowned. On tonight’s episode in the season seven premiere, the “blind auditions” are held in front of celebrity musician coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams, who hand pick vocalists for their individual teams. The strongest vocalists from across the country compete to be selected by one of the coaches and fight for a chance to win the title of being named “The Voice.”

We start off the season with a performance from all of our coaches Adam Levine, Pharrel Williams, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefan singing “Keep on Dancing”.

First up tonight is 31 year old soul singer Luke Wade, he’s been singing since he was three and as a kid he was always working in his moms dance studio; though found a record player and found a love for music. When he was 13 a friend of his shot him and took the vision from his right eye, since then he’s realized he has to aim for his dreams.

Pharrel, Adam, Gwen and Blake all turn around for Luke. Adam wishes he could be higher up, he wants to swing from the rafters and sing from the mountain tops; he loves Luke’s voice. Gwen says she has so much experience and feels she can project it into him. Pharrel says that he knows what to do with his voice, he wants to be his coach. Blake says that he’s already a winner and Luke should join a winners team. Luke decides he’s going to go with Pharrel.

Next up is Clara Hong from Georgia, though was born in South Korea; she did not speak any English at first so it was super tough. She started listening to music to help her learn language, two years into college she decided she wanted to be a singer instead; the choice made her so happy and she loves Pharrel a lot. She has a lot of pressure to prove to her parents that she can succeed.

Adam, Pharrel and Gwen turn around right away; though Blake doesn’t. Blake says she has three of the greatest people in all of music fighting over her, Pharrel loves her tone and says it’s like silk. He loves her voice and the control, he couldn’t believe what he saw when he turned around; he would love to have her on his team. Gwen felt the song was a great choice, it really felt like her. Adam says that she sounds like a winner and wants to make history with her. Clara decides she is going to join team Adam.

Next up is Bryana Salaz from Texas, she moved a lot of times because of her dad being in the military though at 10 she was in a military singing competition and fell in love with it completely. She is sad her dad has a liver disease and can’t be here to see her perform, she has done a lot of competitions but is very nervous for this and is excited to show them what she’s got.

Gwen, Adam and Blake turn around for Bryana; Adam says she is already so much better at singing than Blake is. Gwen mentions she has had the longest career out of them all so that she can give this experience to her since she is also a girl, Blake says he can’t stand the girl card. Pharell says that her range is amazing and wishes her the best of luck with either coach; Bryana decides she is going to pick Gwen.

 Next up is Dennis Bell who works with his family though he would love to get a chance to sing; he won a talent contest years ago though he has always had a dream and passion for music. His dad had a heart attack and he had to give up music to run the business so he could provide for his family. Hoping it’s not too late to achieve the dream, getting on stage after 22 years brings a lot of emotions and wants to finally do something he wants to do in his life.

Nobody turns for him, he mentions that he hasn’t been on stage for 22 years old and mentions his life struggle with having to give up his dream for his famly. Adam says that he could feel pain from his singing, he is truly gifted to give off the feelings he has.

Next up is Damien and came out to L.A. to become a singer; though he works for TSA in LAX. He was working and someone came in shooting up the place, his partner was shot and another co-worker died on the day; it was one of the saddest moments of his life. It made him feel like he has to work harder for his dream, he’s suffered a lot of rejections but knows he just needs one yes.

Gwen, Pharrel and Adam turn around instantly as Damien starts to sing; Blake gives in mid way and turns around with his fellow coaches. Damien starts crying and Gwen goes over to give him a hug, Pharrel says that no never means you stop because where he is right now proves his talent is real. Gwen loves how emotional he is with his singing, it really touched her a lot and she believes she could learn a lot from Damien. Adam says that him bursting into tears is exactly how he sings; it’s emotional and powerful. Blake says that he was reminded by Bill Weathers and knows that there is nobody like him; he asks for Damien to please pick him. Damien decides he’s going to join team Adam.

Next up is Allison Bray who did not get any chairs in season 6 to turn for her, Allison now has a band that focuses on rock and country; she wants to prove that she has improved this time around and hopes someone picks her up this time.

Blake, Gwen and Adam turn around for Allison, Blake tells her that she blew him away and loves how she performed the song so perfectly. Pharrel mentions he didn’t push his button since he felt like Blake would be a much better coach for her, Gwen mentions that somtimes going with coaches that are different could benefit you more than going for the comfortable choice. Adam says that they should just team up and win already; Allison decides she’s going to join team Blake.

Next up is Megg from California, she was in her first musical at 8 and has since been in so many other musicals; she is in a band called Party For One and it’s so hard to get known in the industry nowadays. Gwen is one of her idols and singing for her and America has her very nervous.

Blake says her wasn’t able to understand a lot of the words she was saying and it was too over dramatic, Pharrel says that he was missing the subtle sounds in her voice; it was just a lot of roaring. Gwen says that it’s a shame because seeing the visual with the voice it be a different experience; Pharrel tells her to come back and kick butt because Gwen would surely take her.

Next up is Taylor John Williams and has been performing for years, he loves it with a passion and music is his favorite. Though he right now has a job at a dog hotel and cafe; it’s been a great job for him though he loves playing music at work sometimes. He needs the opportunity because he has no plan B, he wants to learn from the coaches about what he loves.

Adam and Gwen turn around for Taylor, Gwen says that he made the song his own and she can tell that he is surely an artist; Adam says that he is so happy right now and that every note he hit was perfect. Gwen wants to work with him really badly, hoping that an artist like him can inspire her to writing another record. Pharrel says that he feels like Adam understands his voice though Gwen understands his future, Taylor decides he’s going with Gwen.

Next up is Ely Juh Rene and since singing from the time he was a kid in church his mom has been his biggest support, when he was four his parents split up and not having his father it really was weird. Music has been his source of happiness for a long time, his mom encourage him to become a singer; he wants to work with these coaches so badly.

Adam and Pharrel turn for Ely, Gwen loves seeing his emotions from him crying after singing; Pharrel says he loves seeing his passion and it makes him such a good singer. Adam says that he loves his voice and his power, Adam doesn’t want to lose him. Ely goes with Pharrel and Adam is crushed.

Next up is Bianca Espinal, her father moved here from Dominican Republic and she plays in the subway in New York with him sometimes; she loves doing that and performing for people. She wants to get her big break and make her father proud.

Nobody turns Bianca, Gwen says that she did a good job and it was beautiful. Blake says he wishes that she showed off more power in her voice, Bianca feels like she can do better. Pharrel honestly thinks she was singing to them, but not singing for herself; he wanted her to feel amazing about herself and knows she can do it next time.

Next up is tonight’s final artist is James David Carter, he loved country music though in senior year his leg completely snapped so he lost his opportunity for sports; he has been working as a musician for a couple of years. Though he is ready for his big break, getting older he’s been thinking of doing other things; though he wants to do music without a doubt.

All the coaches hit their buttons and turn around for him, Pharrel says every second of his performance was amazing; he is the dream for every coach to have. Gwen says that she has no one on her team like him and wants him, she would love to coach him. Blake says he can’t stand on chairs though he says that was possibly the best country audition he’s ever heard; he says that he wants him to be on his team because he knows country. Adam says that he admits he doesn’t know as much as Blake about country, though feels like he could win this thing and wants to fight for him. James decides he’s going to choose Blake.
