Zelda Rae Williams is the sole daughter of actor and comedian, Robin Williams. She is also an actress and a pretty funny girl herself, yet many outside of Hollywood were not familiar with her prior to the suicide death of her father. Zelda Rae loves video games and some might even recognize her name from the very popular video game franchise. After the death of her father, she was reportedly harassed on Twitter with some vulgar Photoshopped photos picturing Robin’s suicide death. As a result, she posted that she would be quitting Twitter. The public was outraged and shortly after, Twitter announced they would be making some policy changes to help combat this type of trolling and abuse of their platform.

So let’s take a look at some other things about Zelda, her life and what it’s like to be the son of a famous superstar like Robin Williams.

Let’s look at 5 things you didn’t know about Zelda Rae Williams:

She is named after Princess Zelda of The Legend of Zelda video game series. Anyone who is a Zelda fan and a Robin Williams’ fan will have all the more reason to appreciate the late actor. Born in 1989 in New York City, the second child of Williams with his second wife Marsha, Zelda has had an interesting life. Robin was a huge video game fan and fan of the Zelda series.

She is also a video game nerd. She is a self-professed gamer girl who loves Halo 3, among other games. Zelda and Robin were featured in a television commercial for the Nintendo 3DS game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, as fans of the franchise may remember. She was also involved in other special appearances related to the game franchise. She was the special guest host at the London Zelda Symphony Concert and in 2011, Nintendo subscribers received an email with her and Robin playing the new Zelda game, Skyward Sword for the Wii. She also has said she loves to play Super Smash Bros. Melee with her friends.

She loves sports. Zelda says she has played “every single sport on the face of the planet” and regularly enjoys indoor climbing. It is easy to see that Zelda is a well-rounded young lady with varied interests.

She is also an actress. In addition to the guest gamer appearances mentioned above, Zelda is also an actress. At 15 years old, she appeared in House of D, opposite her father and Anton Yelchin as Melissa Loggia. Zelda seems destined to revisit the screen someday as she was a natural in all those appearances.

In 2007, she was honored as one of People Magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People. We definitely believe Zelda is a beautiful person, inside and out. She has followed in her father’s footsteps in many ways. She has acted in In Search of Dr. Seuss, Nine Months, House of D, Were the World Mine, Don’t’ Look Up, See You On the Other Side, Stupid Questions, A Beer Take, Noobz, Checked Out, Teen Wolf and more. While we are saddened over the death of her father, we hope to continue to see Zelda letting her talents shine.

Zelda is still young with a huge career ahead of her so we wish her all the best in everything she does and hope to continue to see her in film.
