April has had relapse with her cancer and, sadly for her, that means she has to check herself back into the hospital. At least until she’s had month long radiation and a necessary bone marrow transplant to follow. But what makes her situation, especially a long hospital stay, bleak is that back at work they’re experiencing cuts.

It seems the paper has been hemorrhaging money in this new digital market so they brought in a third person to begin cutting away at the unnecessary expense. Otherwise known as people depending on a livelihood. So, in this case, most of the life and styles columnist have been fired. And although April has seniority over guys like Danny – it’s truly is the worst time for her to ask for leave even if it’s a medical one.

So April has been stuck at the office waiting for the ball to drop meanwhile everyone else is freaking out about her. And that’s including Natalie. Natalie had to ask Brenna because she was too scared to approach April herself and it was Brenna that reassured her that sisters tend to fight.

Sometimes the fighting gets ugly but, when it really matter, they can put their issues aside when they need each other. And as for April, she has already put the whole Dominic thing behind her. She’s even talking to him at the office about these worrisome cuts.

Then, when it was her turn to be interviewed, April was forced to tell them she needed time off. Apparently, the reviewer told her he needed an extra day to look at all the cases with extenuating circumstances but April couldn’t come in tomorrow seeing as she was going to be starting chemo. Speaking of which, the person that Brenna could possible help by donating her bone marrow to was revealed to be a teenager. Just like her. And right now he’s going through a rough time of his own with chemo.

It’s been draining of all his energy and the one thing that can help Finn to regaining some of his former strength is a procedure that costs up to 200,000 dollars. And that’s something the insurance company is not going to want to cover.

So right now he’s depending on Brenna. The very same Brenna that wants to devote every second she can to being by her sister’s side. Yet, also wants to do her own part in helping out someone else.

Though April does see how much Brenna needs her. So she’s made peace, sort of, with Natalie.

April asked Natalie to be the big sister to Brenna that she can’t be at the moment. And if something were to happen to her, she has Natalie’s promise that she would always look after their little sister. In return, April said she wouldn’t try to stop Dominic and Natalie. Now that doesn’t mean she’s willing to give her full blessing but she said wouldn’t get in the way.

Natalie was never spiteful about her bone marrow so April knew she didn’t worry about that but her job was still on the line.

As for that job, that used to mean so much to April, it ended up being April’s decision to leave it.

Her boss had personally stopped by the house to inform her that she gets to keep her job but that it was going to come at the expense of getting someone like Danny fired. It seems no one wants to fire the girl with cancer in case she files a lawsuit so the only way to keep someone that really wants the job around was for April to quit. And that’s what she did. She quit just like Raquel knew she would if someone told her about what was actually happening behind the scenes. So Danny got to keep his job and April thought that was it for her career.

Later, her mom and George arrived from Cleveland to help her adjust to going back into the hospital. But as it turns out a marriage proposal was the more therapeutic. Leo decided to propose to April, and though it’s kind of fast, she told him yes!

THE END!
