Is Chris Martin proposing to Jennifer Lawrence? Chris Martin officially filed his divorce papers on Monday, April 20, and the rocker and Gwyneth Paltrow are legally no longer married after over a year of conscious uncoupling. Gwyneth Paltrow was completely content remaining married to Chris and dating other people, like her rumored boyfriend Brad Falchuk – but Martin’s girlfriend of several months, Jennifer Lawrence was not having it.
Chris Martin and Jennifer Lawrence have been not-so-quietly dating since 2014, and the couple was most recently spotted together celebrating Easter earlier this month. Jennifer Lawrence and Chris have reportedly broken up and gotten back together numerous times because of their disagreements over Chris’s marriage and divorce. Who really wants to be dating a married man, regardless of whether he is or isn’t consciously uncoupled?
After months of J-Law threatening to dump him, Chris Martin finally took the plunge and officially divorced his wife Gwyneth – and sources say he did it all for his girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence, who he now plans to propose to. Chris is very serious about Jennifer Lawrence, but he wasn’t necessarily rushing to divorce Gwyn until he realized that he really was going to lose the Hunger Games star if he didn’t.
Now, Chris is determined to prove his love to Jennifer by getting down on one knee and proposing to her and asking her to be his wife. Considering Jennifer has put up with his conscious uncoupling for this long – it is safe to assume that she is in for the long haul and will most likely say “yes.” It will definitely be interesting to see how Gwyneth Paltrow reacts to Chris and Jennifer’s engagement. She had to know it was coming, but no woman wants to see her ex-husband get married again before she does.
How do you think Chris Martin will propose to Jennifer Lawrence? Will it be something low-key and romantic, or something big and over-the-top to celebrate his divorce from Gwyn? How do you think Paltrow will react to Chris and Jenn’s engagement? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
