Tonight’s episode of Dance Moms kicks off in Los Angeles, the team has officially moved to Los Angeles for the second half of the dance season. The moms are all waiting outside of the Abby Lee Dance Studio, they are not happy because they are back at 3rd Street – the studio that Abby promised would be ready for them, still isn’t. The moms head in to the studio and the girls are lined up waiting for Abby to start rehearsal. Abby is sitting on the floor dumping out her purse, she refuses to work until she finds a pair of earrings to wear. Holly thinks that Abby is being a total diva.

Abby finally gets herself together and is ready to unveil the pyramid from Australia, Jo JO and Mackenzie are on the bottom. Kendall and Mia are in the middle – Abby Lee says that Mia did an outstanding job at her performance, she apologizes for missing it and said that she had a cocktail party. Of course, Maddie is at the top of the pyramid – Abby says it is because she “remains humble,” and always try to include the other girls.

This weekend Abby announces that they will be competing at Energy Dance, then she tells the moms that she won’t be there because she is too busy working on her own studio – she had no idea how much work it was going to be, or how much money it was going to cost. The moms demand to know when the new studio will be done, but Abby Lee says they still don’t have an “estimated date of completion.”

At the upcoming dance competition they will do a group performance called “Shame On You.” And, there will be three solos: Kalani, Mia, and Kendall. Before the girls get to work learning their new dances Abby Lee makes one final announcement – tomorrow night Kendall’s music video will have its big premiere. Jill is pumped, she raves that this is why she chose Abby to be her daughter’s marriage.

There are three days until the competition, Abby gets to work with the girls and begins teaching them the routine for “Shame On You.” Meanwhile, the moms upstairs sit around and complain about Abby Lee skipping another competition. Jessalynn doesn’t think that Abby is “being a good business woman,” and it is her duty to make an appearance and support the girls. The moms corner Abby and demand to know why she isn’t showing up at the competition. Abby screams that it is America – she doesn’t have to do anything or even be there.

Abby heads back in to rehearsal and tells the girls that their group dance “Shame On You,” is about Mia – she is trying to get the girls to “leap over to the other side of the fence.” Mia knows that the group dance is about what happened when she went and recorded a song with Aubrey O’Day without including Abby. Holly thinks that Abby is being petty, Mia is just getting to be the lead in the group dance – and it’s helping her more than it is hurting her.

It’s time for Kendall’s big music video premiere, Abby is salivating to introduce the world to “Kendall K,” the next big star from ALDC. Kendall is really nervous, she doesn’t want to let down her mom or Abby – this is the biggest night of her life. Abby heads up on stage in front of hundreds of people in Los Angeles, she announces they they are going to be the very first people to get to see Kendall’s music video “Wear Em Out.” Kendall takes the stage and thanks everyone for coming out and then the music video begins playing on the big screen. Over all the premiere goes off without a hitch – Mia admits that Kendall’s premiere got even more people than her premiere did, but she is still happy for her.

The next day the girls head back to rehearsal to begin working on their dances for the competition. Holly is unimpressed with Nia’s solo “Master of Disguise.” She is offended because she knows that Abby is trying to say that her daughter is “two faced” because she did a song without including Abby in the production. Holly is worried because Abby is setting Nia up to fail and she hasn’t even given her the props that she needs for her solo yet. Jill is worried about Kendall’s solo too – she has a lot on her plate with the music video premiere and a solo in the same week. Jill complains that Kendall doesn’t have her props yet either.

It’s time for the Energy Dance Competition – the moms arrive and are shocked that Abby Lee really ditched them, even though Abby told them over and over that she wasn’t going. The moms are sick of Abby acting crazy every time they are in Los Angeles.

They are determined to help the girls pull off their performances and prove that they don’t need Abby. The moms get to work getting their daughters ready. Jill is furious when she realizes that Abby never sent Kendall’s prop or costume. Abby’s assistant Gianna says that she can’t do her solo without her costume or her props. Meanwhile, the Abby Lee Dance Company takes the stage and performs their group dance – “Shame On You.” Kilani is up next and she nails her solo, then Nia takes the stage with her two masks on. She is nervous because she hasn’t even practiced with the masks. Within a few seconds she tosses one of the masks to the floor – and finishes the number. She goes backstage afterwards and confesses to Kilani that she forgot half of the dance because she barely had any time to practice.

It’s time for the winners to be announced – Nia’s solo only scored 5th place, but Kilani won 1st place with her solo. Overall, the group dance scored 1st place with “Shame On You.” The moms are proud of the girls, and think that they did just fine considering Abby didn’t bother to show up or support them. Afterwards Kilani calls Abby and tells her the news – then Abby talks to Kilani’s mom and tells her the reason she didn’t show up was because she was so sick, her nose was running a stream, she hurt her knee and her groin, and she had to call security to help he rout of bed. Abby goes on a super long rant about how she “needs her own time,” the moms ignore her and walk out of the dressing room – leaving the phone laying on the dressing room table.

THE END!
