Dancing With the Stars 2015 Semi-Finals Recap: Season 20 Episode 9

Tonight on ABC Dancing With The Stars 2015 airs with an all new Monday May 11, season 20 episode 10 and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode the ninth week of performances feature the semi-final round of competition. Included: Each judge selects a song and dance style for a couple, as well as provides coaching for them.

On the last episode, the six remaining couples on “Dancing with the Stars” danced to a song and dance style voted on by viewers for America had creative control of the couples’ first dance, asking fans throughout the week via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for their input on wardrobe, set design and visual effects. Each couple performed two full routines including an individual original dance and a trio dance. For the trio dance, couples had the opportunity to pick an eliminated pro or troupe member to enhance their performance and highlight the strengths of each star. The trio dance styles included the Jive, Paso Doble, Samba and Salsa. At the end of the night, two couples were eliminated at the end of the night and four couples moved e on to the semi-finals. On tonight’s episode as per the ABC synopsis, “four remaining couples advance to the SEMI-FINALS.The competition is neck and neck as each couple fights to make it to the top 3 and dance in the finale. Noah Galloway, Nastia Likuin, Riker Lynch and Rumer Willis will perform two full routines including a Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Paso Doble, Contemporary and Argentine Tango.”

Judges Comments: Len: “Another great dance, lost a little but of character though.” Julianne: “Honestly that execution was just right on and America is falling in love with Rumer.” Bruno: “It was so steamy, you never lost the lyrical quality.” Carrie Ann: “You are so connected to the story and the movement. Just a vision in white.”

Judges Comments: Julianne: “There was such an ease about the performance, it was raw, I was so amazed by it and there so much content. I want you to know that it has been very enjoyable to watch you dance.” Bruno: “There is such a naturalness to what you do. Beautiful.” Carrie Ann: “I loved that you had fun, no more stiffness, you are expressive.” Len: “There was a charm about it, that was your best dance.”

Judges Comments: Bruno: “This was hard core, it was extremely difficult.” Carrie Ann: “That is what we are talking about, amazing.” Len: “That was a great performance.” Julianne: “I could not tell who was the pro, I am so blown away.”

Judges Comments: Carrie Ann: “That was incredible, it was a showstopper.” Len: “The secret to Quickstep is move fast, but don’t hurry and that is what you did.” Julianne: “Your connection is so great this week, you are now a dancer. You have opened up and I love that.” Bruno: “It was technical to a fault, you were a star out there.”

Judges Comments: Len: “If I had my own private leader board, you would get the highest mark. Brilliant dancing.” Julianne: “You were beautiful.” Carrie Ann: “That was genius, you pulled it off. Your lines were beautiful, that was the most difficult lift of all, you did it.”

Judges Comments: Julianne: “I had chills from head to toe. That was unbelievable and the best dance that I have ever seen you do.” Bruno: “No one can get you down, I loved all the sequence, the execution was masterful.” Len: “I tell you that you came out and gave us a battle.”

Judges Comments: Bruno: “You are a leading man right up there with the best, you were controlling it like a lion tamer.” Carrie Ann: “You dance like a champion, you were dancing with your last breath.” Len: “You always had flare, now musicality and technique, whoa!.”

That was something so spectacular.” Julianne: “This night has been really special. I think that was the most special dance I have ever seen, it was like none of us were here.” Bruno: “Sublime refinement and skill.”
