“Days of Our Lives” casting spoilers are red hot today as DOOL aquires one of the most exciting actors out there! Serial Soaps reported that soap opera veteran Vincent Irizarry was joining the cast of Days of Our Lives in a mysterious blind role. The show has not released very many details about the character, yet – all known at the time is that he will play a handsome man that has a dark side.
Several years ago, rumors swirled that Irizarry was auditioning for a recurring role on “General Hospital.” Many fans believed they would see him at any moment in the role of Valentin Cassadine. It isn’t clear if he wasn’t selected for the role or if it was just rumors. Former head writer, Ron Carlivati said in 2013 that he was a wonderful actor and would make a great addition to the cast. He went on to say he has not been provided any information about him being selected for any role on “GH.”
On Aug. 18, Serial Scoop posted that “Days of Our Lives,” revealed they were casting an established soap actor in a blind item. They revealed nothing about the character or storylines. Immediately, fans speculated that they recast E.J. DiMera. Ever since, DiMera was shot and later died on the show, fans have not let go of the possibility he would return. To date, there has been no information about E.J. coming back to the show. As of right now, it looks like Irizarry will not portray E.J., it will be a completely unknown role – possibly a newcomer arriving in Salem.
Irizarry is a well-established actor and has a long history of working with some of the biggest names in soaps: “All My Children” (David Hayward), “Santana Barbara” (Dr. Scott Clark), “Guiding Light” (Lujack’ Luvonaczek), “Young and the Restless” (David Chow), and “Beverly Hills 20210” (Riggs). He won a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on “AMC” portraying David Hayward.
Immediately after the news leaked about his role on “Days,” fans congratulated him on social media. Fans are thrilled that he is cast on the show, and cannot wait until they know more details about his mysterious role.
