Liz says she ran a background check on him. Jared and Taylor come in and Carter says tell her he’s not married with a kid. He says that’s not how he wanted her to find out. She’s shocked.

He says it was weird seeing his dad and doesn’t know yet if they’ll let him out. Carter comes in and says hi to Liz who is in David’s office. They agree it’s strange him not being there. Liz tells Carter she’s sorry and Carter says she is too.

Carter says she knows she was just trying to protect her but it’s not fair to ambush her like that. She says it’s hard to watch Carter become a woman because she didn’t get to see her as a little girl. Carter says she wishes she was still a little girl. Liz asks about Lori and says it’s hard for her to handle that. Liz says this is her home and it will always be her home. Carter says she knows but needs some space. She grabs her bag and Liz says she doesn’t need to stay with Jared to prove a point.

Carter says not everything she does is about Liz. She walks out and Liz breaks down crying. Carter goes to Lori’s house and asks if she can stay for a couple of days. Lori says she’s always welcome there and she asks if Carter is okay. She says she will be. Lori welcomes her inside with a smile.
