NCIS Recap 12/15/15: Season 13 Fall Finale “Spinning Wheel”

The body of Marine Private John Angel was found in an alley on tonight’s episode of “NCIS”. However the marine’s death was forced to take a backseat when Ducky had also been found on the scene gagged and bound.

Ducky it seems had been lured into a trap by a man claiming to have information on Ducky’s half-brother Nicholas. Nicholas you see had died some years ago but even before that Ducky hadn’t seen him a while. So naturally his brother has been a bit of a sore spot for him and that explains why he never talked about it with Gibbs.

But what with a kidnapping and a murder being involved, silence was just a luxury that Ducky no longer afford. Therefore he had to relive some of the worst days of his life. Including when Nicholas’s mother Lorraine (a woman lacking in maternal instinct) decided one day that she was going to divorce her husband and take Nicholas out of the country.

Elsewhere, though, back in present times Gibbs had DiNozzo and McGee run down the license plate on the van that Ducky had been found in. And what the boys found out was that the van had been rented by a man named Rufus. Rufus had found the van and house package on a renting app. And he was willing to pay full price from Sam Butler.

Yet Sam had been a couple of feet away from the house, staying in a tent, when someone had killed Rufus and arranged it so that Rufus’s death looked like a suicide.

And Rufus’s death only made the situation with Ducky look even direr if that could possible. The man that had apparently kidnapped him had gone on to kill two other men but had kept Ducky alive. So that begged the question why. He could have only have left Ducky alive if he wanted to use him in some way later down the line.

Hence the guys had to take a more in-depth look at Rufus and as it turns out they found a letter addressed to Ducky from his brother. The letter itself carried information that only Nicholas would know and so Abby ran some tests on it in order to indicate when it had been written.

And the letter had been written by Nicholas three weeks ago.

So that could only mean one thing. Nicholas had to be alive however it was a bit strange that the letter had been written in a child-like script. If the letter had been created a mere three weeks go then Nicholas had to be a man in his forties. And his script should have improved since then.

But that part didn’t really seem to matter to Ducky. All he cared about was that there was suddenly proof his brother was alive. And more than anything he wanted to reunited with him.

When his stepmother had initially threatened her husband with full custody, Ducky had reached out to his old friend Angus who was a barrister (British lawyer). Lorrain had asked for ten grand in exchange for leaving Nicholas in England. And neither Ducky nor his father had it. So Ducky had Angus if he could fight Lorraine’s full custody in court.

And the other man said they couldn’t but that he was willing to give Ducky the money to keep Nicholas. Yet by time the offer had come, Lorraine had already had her and Nicholas’s things packed up. Therefore Ducky wasn’t left with much choice.

Lorraine had changed her mind about the money and she had wanted to take Nicholas out of spite. So she called the magistrate and had the officers he sent delay Ducky. And took the boy all the way to Albania.

Where Ducky then followed her from country to country until a relative of hers informed him that both Lorraine and Nicholas had died. But back in present times, the team figured out what Rufus had been up to. Rufus had worked in the post office in Philadelphia and after he noticed that one letter had a very expensive and one of a kind stamp – he hired a PI to track down Nicholas Mallard for him in order to get the matching set to the Merlin stamp.

Apparently the two together would have brought in serious money but Vigo Trellis realized he didn’t just want his fee to be paid. He also wanted the money from the stamps. So he killed Rufus and tried to find Nicholas on his own.

And that’s what led to him kidnapping Ducky. However, when that didn’t work as planned, he then tried to find Nicholas again and accidentally picked up the wrong guy by the same name. Thus when the team found them – they were able to bring him in but broke Ducky’s heart in the process.

He felt like maybe Abby had been mistaken when she said the letter was actually from his brother. But to make it up to him, the team did conduct a search on the real Nicholas and found him in a home in Philadelphia.

Nicholas has been suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s and a few weeks back he had escaped the home. And they had later found him at the post office. He had been trying to reach his brother.

So when Ducky finally saw him again, Nicholas’ disease was no impediment. He knew his big brother when he saw him.

NCIS: New Orleans Recap 12/15/15: Season 2 Fall Finale “Blue Christmas”

The team had been pulled in on a robbery-homicide investigation after the first-responders on the scene realized the victim involved had in fact been a Navy Commander’s wife on tonight’s episode of “NCIS: New Orleans”.

Apparently Shelley Freeman had been home alone when a couple of men broke into the home she shared with her husband and stepdaughter. And while it was ok for these guys to rob the place – once these men were done – they didn’t feel like they wanted any witnesses. So they shot Shelley while she was still bound and gagged. And then they left the scene before anyone could walk in on them.

But what really drew the NCIS to this ring of thieves was not that they had turned into murders. It seems they were also suspected of espionage when Commander’s laptop showed up missing. For that laptop ended up have pertinent information on Naval intel.

So it was really quite fortune that Patton was able to trace the tracker that had been placed on the laptop and that it showed it was a moving car. Pride then arranged for NOPD back up and as a joint task force they got the call to pull over and arrested the man inside. However Pride had a situation on his hands because the man inside wasn’t actually a man. He was a teenager and he was Dr. Wade’s son.

Danny had been hanging out when the cops had pulled him over. And unfortunately for him, the laptop had been in a found in a backpack that was in backseat. Though Dany said it wasn’t his. He said he had been a designated driver for a couple of his friends when they had all gone out to a part together.

Yet the gun that had been traced to Shelley’s murder had been bought from pawnshop by a guy matching Danny’s description. So Wade had to step right about then and advise her son to stop talking. She said Danny wasn’t going to say another word without a lawyer.

And Pride tried to talk Wade out of that decision. Though she said that as a mother of a young black man, she couldn’t afford to take any sort of risks with the NOPD. Danny could give them information that would then attempt to implicate him with.

Therefore the rest of the investigation had to be carried out without Danny’s input. And so the team looked at their small group of suspects which led to them finding out a first responder had called the Master-at-arms that night.

Although that wasn’t a conspiracy. In fact one of their sons had just been a tad too involved in the case. Alonzo is a teenager that had just recently moved in with his dad after spending years with his grandma while his dad was overseas. So naturally Alonzo has been having some issues what with readjusting to a new School and new friends.

Therefore Alonzo made sure to never lose touch with his best friend from the old neighborhood – Danny. Alonzo and Danny had grown up together like brothers. And when Alonzo asked his “brother” to hold a bag for him – Danny didn’t even question it.

And that’s how Danny landed in trouble. Yet Alonzo did nothing about that and was still going to school when Percy and Brody found him. And somehow Alonzo managed to escape getting arrested right there.

He had gone off to hide in a secret location but ultimately Danny was the one to give him up in the end. He told Wade and Pride where they could find him. And when they went to the abandoned church, they found a shot Alonzo and very scared Sofia.

Sofia had been the commander’s daughter and so she had told the team that Alonzo had talked her and her friends into robbing houses. But the truth was, she was a sociopath. She threatened her friends and a new kid that just wanted to make friends into following her. And then took the first opportunity she could to kill her own stepmother because she thought she could blame it on Alonzo.

However Alonzo had an airtight alibi for the time of death. He had been with Danny miles away and Wade had overheard him on the phone. So Sofia’s plan quickly fell apart after that and she was forced into revealing who she truly was in front of her. A sad little girl that used violence and threats to get whatever she wanted.

And once the case had wrapped up – the team convened at Pride’s nearly opened bar and had a good Christmas celebration together.
