RECAP:

Tonight’s episode of Sleepy Hollow kicks off with Crane cleaning the house, and doing laundry – whistling while he works. Abbie catches him doing her laundry and teases him about hand-washing her “unmentionables.” Crane explains that he just wants to help her out since she was kind enough to give her a place to stay. The smoke alarm goes and he rushes to the kitchen – he burnt the food he was cooking. Abbie reassures him that being roommates is going to be okay, they just need to respect each other’s boundaries. Meanwhile, a woman is hard at work creating some sort of beast to take over Sleepy Hollow. Somehow she is conjuring up some sort of spell that makes people confess their darkest secrets to each other. Gets a phone call – there has been

While Abby and Crane are eating takeout, because he burnt dinner, gets a phone call – there has been a murder. Abby and Crane head to the scene of the crime and learn that the victim is an accountant at the comptroller’s office named Paul Everett. The coroner thinks that he died of a heartattack – but it is suspicious because the last call on his cell phone was to the FBI. Agent Reynolds pops up, he says that he is Abby’s new boss and chief. Crane explains that he is there because they were having dinner together at home. Reynolds thinks that they are dating – Abbie corrects him and says they are just roommates … it gets super awkward. Apparently Abbie already knows Reynolds – they went to school together.

After Abbie leaves, she meets up with Crane. He thinks that Everett’s death was related to supernatural entities – after he left the crime scene he saw a flash of shadows. They head to the library to investigate the archives and see if there is anything on shadows. While they are working Crane says that he “felt” something between Abbie and Reynolds – she informs him that it is none of his business.

Abbie is able to get a hold of the voice mail that Paul Everett left at the FBI – he asks to speak to an agent and says that he has important information, and then the line goes dead. After careful examination they hear whispering in the background. It’s a creepy voice saying, “I will kill for secrets,” over and over.

Crane remembers the voices –he dis up Grace Dixon’s journal. Apparently General Howe created a “whispering wraith,” and dressed him up as a soldier named Marcus Collins, it was his job to find out the secrets of Washington’s spies. Crane has a flashback, he pays Betsy Ross a visit and warns her that Marcus Collins is a turncoat. Collins killed two spies, and he nearly scared Betsy Ross to death and killed her as well. Crane and Abbie realize that the “Whispering Wraith” is back, and they think he may be killing spies again. Abbie pulls up Paul Everett’s coworkers’ names – she thinks they might be the Wraith’s next victim.

Jenny gets a phone call from Joe Corbin – he stopped by her trailer and someone had broken in and ransacked it. Jenny heads to the trailer where Joe is waiting for her, he demands to know what is going on. Jenny rants that it is not just “fun and games” – people are dying. He points out that his own father died, and he knows it’s not fun and games. Jenny knows that Joe’s dad wouldn’t want him caught up in all of this, but she promises to tell him if there is something going on.

Abbie and Crane head to Richard Williams’ house to ask him about his dead co-worker Richard Williams. While they are knocking on the door, they hear whispering – the wraith is in the front yard. It’s whispering at Abbie and Crane to “give him the names.” Richard Williams runs out of his house and hops in his car and speeds off – the wraith follows him down the road and makes him crash in to a tree.

Abbie heads in to Richard’s house to investigate, she finds a hidden floorboard – Agent Reynolds arrives and interrupts her investigating. He wants to know what angle Abbie is working. One guy had a heart attack and another guy drove in to a tree – it doesn’t seem too suspicious, they were natural deaths. But, he tells her that if she thinks there is something to sniff out, then go for it, he “trusts her instincts.”

Abbie learns that Richard and Paul had uncovered an embezzlement scheme, by their boss Wiseman. He was syphoning county employees’ pension plans and stealing millions. Crane realizes that the Wraith is doing the same thing he did to the spies that Crane used to work with. He is trying to kill them before they reveal the truth. There was a woman named Susan that was helping Williams and Everett, and she is the last person that knew the secret – she is next on the Wraith’s hit list. Crane points out that now they know the secret, so they will be on the Wraith’s list of victims too.

Joe Corbin is walking through a parking ramp, and someone kidnaps him and takes him to the woods. He realizes that the man is using him as leverage to get to Jenny. Jenny arrives, and she confronts the man named Randall. He says that he wants the shard that Joe’s dad sent her after. They wind up fighting while Joe is helplessly tied to the tree. Finally Jenny gives up and tosses him the shard – Randall leaves, but warns her “if it is a fake he will be back to visit.” After Randall leaves, Joe demands to know what is going on and what the shard is. Jenny says it doesn’t matter – he could have been killed, he doesn’t need to know.

Crane and Abbie track down Susan James and hide out with her – the room is lit up with UV lights. Crane says that as long as they stay in the light, the Wraith can’t get them, it draws its power from shadows. Crane hears a noise outside and leaves the light room to go check it out. The Wraith fried the electric box, so the lights are not on anymore. The shadows come – and the Wraith follows. It begins attacking Crane and demanding his secrets, Crane tries to fight it off with a pipe. Abbie comes to his rescue and tosses a flash bomb at the Wraith.

Abbie reminds Crane that Betsy Ross was saved from the Wraith – there has to be a way to fight it. Suddenly, Crane remembers that Betsy called the Wraith “Marcus Collins.” – apparently demons are powerless when you knows their real names and identity. After Crane calls the demon by his real name and stands up to him – his powers are weakened enough for Abbie to sneak up behind him and hit him over the head with the pipe and kill him. Afterwards, Abbie and Crane discuss their own secrets that they have been hiding – Abbie confesses that she finally found her father, with the help of the FBI database. He is alive, and he lies in Saratoga, she hasn’t saw him since she was 6 years old – sometimes she stalks him and takes pictures of him.
