Emmett made a surprising visit on tonight’s all new episode of “Switched at Birth” and yet Bay isn’t as ecstatic about it as she normally would have been. For, you see, Bay has been regretting her decision to take the fall for Daphne for some time now and while she’s made amends with her sister – finding out Emmett is enjoying his new life without her is kind of a hard blow. And it especially hurts when Emmett tells her that she was right earlier. He would have regretted passing up on film school.

Yet, the same self-sacrificing Bay that had originally put everyone first is currently absent. And in her place is an insecure young woman that now feels like she has to compete with college in order to keep her boyfriend happy with her.

Thankfully, though, Regina had a nice long conversation with her. And she assured Bay that she doesn’t need to make every second with Emmett perfect. He already loves her which he showed by making the trip out in the first place.

Besides, trying to force things might just end up having the opposite effect. So hopefully Bay will listen because truthfully Regina has been feeling left out in regards to what’s been going on in children’s life.

Daphne’s college experience is so much more different than what Emmett is describing that it really isn’t funny. And she’s so stressed by her class with her toughest professor that Regina tried to step in. Yet, Daphne didn’t want her mother’s help. She wanted to do this next part of her life by herself. However Regina ignored her daughter’s desires and interfered when she shouldn’t have.

Daphne had been freaking out over a low grade. She had gotten a “D” and because it was such a large percentage of her overall grade she was scared she wouldn’t pass her class with anything higher than a “C”. So while she was contemplating retaking the class next semester – her mother went behind her back to speak with the professor.

And the following conversation went like this: Daphne doesn’t have the same advantage as everyone else and being deaf means she needs more to acclimate herself. And then when that didn’t work – she made it seem like Daphne’s upbringing wasn’t as privileged as many of the other students.

But the professor wasn’t buying it and for that matter neither was Daphne when she found out what her mother did. She told Regina that this wasn’t high school and that the reason she doesn’t understand college is because she never went to college herself. And so Regina walked away before her daughter could say something even worse.

Meanwhile, the Kennishs (the family Regina forgot about as she was describing her daughter to be at an disadvantage) are experiencing their own problems with knowing when to hold and when to let go. Their eldest, Toby, is turning down jobs now because he doesn’t want to compromise his style. Yet, he’s perfectly fine with living off of his parents. So they’ve cut him.

Not by much but enough for him to learn a lesson. Toby has to start paying his own cell phone bill and his own car insurance.

And as for their practically adopted son Travis, John interest in him wasn’t entirely misplaced. Travis does have talent. At least enough to make onto his school’s baseball team.

Though, Melody isn’t happy about Travis’s decision to drop a class just so he could make baseball practices on time.

Melody felt like John had been reliving his gold years through Travis. So she talked to John and she told him that if at any time Travis’s school work started to fall behind – she’s holding him personally responsible. And as for John, he got a job as an assistant coach on the UMKC baseball team. Hence he will be keeping an eye on Travis and hopefully he’ll use his new position to protect the young man he inspired and who looks up to him so much.

And, as things stand, what Regina did wasn’t so bad. She did after all manage to convince the professor to allow Daphne to do some extra credit work over the weekend. So Regina ended up saving her daughter in the end. And that meant Daphne had a lot of apologizing to do.

Sure, she loves her mother for fighting for her but there are some boundaries that need to be in place. And Regina eventually understood that. Though she did admit to there being a part of her that had wanted to meet this woman her daughter admired so much.

So jealousy was at play but her in case all resolved itself.

In Bay’s case on the other hand, her situation is a lot more complicated. Right before Emmett left, the two of them got into this huge fight over Skye. And so Bay went to a party afterwards hoping to forget.

But it seems she forgot a lot more than she thought because the next morning she woke up in bed naked next to Tuck and she can’t recall how she got there.

THE END!
