RECAP:

Last week, Helen had reached a new point in her life. She had talked to Noah and after doing so she was left feeling like she had finally achieved closure.

Therefore Helen was in a better position to try something new on tonight’s episode but, as luck would have it, Tinder proved to be a disappointment. Helen thanks in large part to Whitney’s interference had set up a date on what she thought was going to be another dating site. And surprisingly the worst part of it was when said date didn’t even bother to show up.

So Helen had a lucky escape there and she eventually came to realize it once Tinder had actually been explained to her. But just as she was about to give up on the whole “looking” part, she ran into her Martin’s doctor. The same one that had operated on him and had saved his life. And yet who was either a jerk in everyday life or pretending to be a jerk at least.

And what does Helen choose to do? She sleeps with him, the man she’s unsure of but someone she knows she could toss away after sex seeing as they had made that part clear from the beginning. So regardless of what she and Noah had discussed, Helen was still being sloppy and she knew it. She also later cried over it after she couldn’t give her son Martin his injections without hurting him yet the good doctor could.

Helen had in fact broken down in front of what was supposed to be her sex only date and she had confessed that she had been tired of hurting her children. First with the divorce and then with her own behavior. And that all she wanted was to stop hurting them.

Though, once she had finished beating herself up, Helen came to see that maybe she isn’t the worst mother out there. She does after all love her children and she is trying. So that more than anything else is what matters.

And in the end she didn’t need to wait around for anyone else to validate that. Which was good in her case because the same guy that could be there for her son wasn’t necessarily a man that could be there for her. A point that was by the way driven home when he checked his Tinder profile after she had admitted to sometimes hating being a mother.

So Helen was finally coming to grips over her situation meanwhile it was Alison that was going into the labor without Noah at her side.

It seems Noah’s book was getting serious attention from producers and so he had left Alison on what should have been a short trip. Only it wasn’t just producers that got in the way of him being there to witness his child’s birth. It had also been Max and his drugs. And then there was Eden’s flirting as well as Noah accidentally climbing into a Jacuzzi while two girls were making out and one of those girls was his daughter Whitney.

First Noah had actually been doing what he claimed and he did try to sell his book as a movie option. However Max got in the way. Noah’s friend had stepped in and appeared to be on a drug binge that made Noah look unprofessional just by being near him. So Noah lost a couple of points because of that and had snorted a line of cocaine to fit in with the producer in order to make himself look better.

And well Noah on drugs wasn’t the best combination.

He began to spiral out and was wandering a hurricane party when he saw the two girl that he mistaken for women. And tried to join them. Possibly to start his own orgy but, whatever the case, it failed to pan out when he realized one of the girls was his daughter. His very much disgusted daughter.

So that night, Noah drove out into Hurricane Sandy and he nearly killed himself on the road. Yet things had changed for him by the next morning.

Noah had found out that Alison had given birth to a healthy baby girl and he had wanted to see them. Though she didn’t want to see him right away. And so she asked for a little more time with just her and her daughter.

But the night of the hurricane proved to be a turning point. Helen had stopped crying, Alison had given birth, Noah had hit a bottom of sorts, and Cole had burnt Allison’s house down. Cole had did that as a way to move on and hopefully he will.
