Tonight’s episode of The Americans kicks off with Elizabeth taking a bubble bath, she has a flashback of when Paige was young – and they were trying to teach her how to swim at a local pool. When Paige was scared of the water – Elizabeth tossed her in when none of the other parents were watching.

Elizabeth heads out for drinks in disguise and meets with a CIA agent named Charlotte – she gets drunk and complains that she has busted her ass for the agency, but they always pass her up on positions because she is a woman. She passes Elizabeth a file and says that it has everything that she will need for an American operation in Afghanistan. The agent says she has to go to the bathroom, and she runs to a payphone and calls someone and cries that she is “Doing something horrible.” Meanwhile, Phil and Stan are at a self-help workshop on how to “fully experience life.”

Charlotte heads back to the table and begins acting strange, Elizabeth can tell that something is up and she makes up an excuse and says that she has to leave. While she is walking away from the bar, two cars fly past her. Two agents arrive at the bar and question Charlotte – she describes what Elizabeth was wearing in detail and they take notes and radio for back up.
Two FBI agents stop Elizabeth and she begins fighting with them, as one of them is choking her out they fall in to the road and he is hit by a motorcycle. Once both of the men are down, Elizabeth grabs one of their guns – she can hear sirens approaching in a distance.

Stan and Phil head back to Phil’s house and find Elizabeth in the kitchen icing her shoulder. Phil convinces Stan to leave, and then Elizabeth reveals she had a close call with FBI agents and fills him in on the details.

The next morning Stan heads to work, he runs in to Gaad – who has a broken nose after his fight with Elizabeth the night before. They got the list of names out of Elizabeth’s pocket and they are running it for fingerprints. Gaad breaks that news to Stan that Nina was convicted for treason – and he is obviously shaken up.

Elizabeth heads to church with Paige – and helps her make flyers for a peace rally afterwards. Elizabeth catches her checking out one of the guys there named Dan – and is annoyed when the pastor encourages them to work together because he knows Dan and Paige like each other.

Later Elizabeth and Phil pay Gabriel a visit, he puts the finishing touches on the dinner he made for them while Liz shows him pictures of Henry and Paige. They sit down to eat and catch up – and Elizabeth apologizes profusely for losing the list. Gabriel rants that Reagan is trying to turn Afghanistan in to their Vietnam. They discuss Paige joining the center, Gabriel agrees that now is the time for her them to start laying the ground work in Paige. Elizabeth reassures Gabriel that they have Paige in a very liberal church that is protesting the nuclear war – and they are getting her ready to tell her who they really are. It’s obvious that Phil doesn’t agree with what Elizabeth is saying about Paige.

Martha goes to the shooting range with Stan, she whines that no matter how much she target practices she can never seem to hit the target. Stan realizes that she is wearing glasses and tells them to take them off – she fires another round and they are all headshots. At the agency, Oleg is whining to Arkady about Nina, he wants to help her get out of the treason charges. Oleg reveals that he begged his father to help her, but he refused.

Phil meets with Annalise and she dishes on everything she has learned from Yousef. He tells her to call Yousef and tell him that her husband is out of town so that he will come back and they can get a list of the CIA officers. Meanwhile, at home Elizabeth is listening to a tape that Gabriel gave her from a woman in another language. After having sex with Phil in the car, Annalise starts crying – he tries to comfort her and Annalise confesses that she is in love with Yousef.

Phil heads to the office the next day and Elizabeth surprises him with a brownie, he was mad earlier because she made some for the church potluck and wouldn’t let him eat any of them. Elizabeth shuts the door and turns on the copy machine so no one can hear them. She reveals that the tape from Gabriel was from her mother, and she is dying. At work Stan is being briefed on a mid-ranking official from the US Canada Institute, their team will be responsible for her security and the KGB is going to be gunning for her.

Elizabeth is driving down the street with a car tailing her, she pulls down a dark street and turns her car off. The man following her one of the agents she is training her, she critiques his driving and reassures him that he is doing fine. Annalise is in a hotel room with Yousef – and Phil is listening in the room next door. Yousef tells Annalise that he wants her to move to his apartment in Zurich and leave her husband – she agrees. Annalise tells Yousef that she loves him and then reveals that she has been spying on him, he throws her on the bed and chokes her until she stops breathing. Phil rushes in but he is too late, Annalise is dead. Yousef starts to panic and gets dressed, but Phil tells him to wait and says that he will help him.
