The Bachelor returned to ABC earlier tonight with the two-hour season finale and now that Chris has picked the winner and his true-love we are on to the “After the Final Rose” episode where Chris Soules, Whitney and Becca look back at the dramatic ending to their journey to find love. On tonight’s first episode, The Finale, although Chris was in love with both of the final women he realized that only one of them would accept his final rose either Whitney or Becca.
On tonight’s episode as per the ABC synopsis, “Immediately following the dramatic Season Finale, emotions run high as Chris sits down with Chris Harrison – LIVE — to discuss his final two women of the season, Becca and Whitney. In this unpredictable special, the Bachelor takes us back to Arlington, Iowa, where he spent the emotional last days of his journey. Both women are back to sit with Chris to talk about the outcome of the show. It’s the live extraordinary ending to his adventure to find true love.”

It’s time for the live After The Final Rose show – Chris Harrison introduces The Bachelor Chris Soules. He takes the stage and raves about how “Whitney is the perfect girl for him.” He laughs that they had to keep it secret for so long that he feels awkward talking about his relationship. Chris Harrison wants to talk about Becca Tilley before Whitney joins them. Chris explains that their relationship was real and he was falling in love with Becca, but she wasn’t at the same place in her life as he was – he thinks it may be because she is a little bit younger than him. Chris Soules gets uncomfortable and says he doesn’t want to talk about the past – he just wants to move forward with his new fiancée. Overall Chris is confident that he made the right decision by choosing Whitney.
Becca Tilley joins Chris Harrison and Chris Soules on the ATFR show, it’s the first time that she has seen Chris since he dumped her at the final rose ceremony. Becca explains that it was really difficult for her to watch the finale – she was in such a tough place because she didn’t want to let Chris go, but she wasn’t ready for a proposal either. Becca reassures Chris that she respects his decision to send her home, and she is grateful for his honesty. Chris Harrison asks Becca why it is so difficult for her to fall in love – she explains that she loves people easily, but she has never actually been IN love. She wanted so badly to be in love with Chris – but she knew it wouldn’t be fair to lie and say she was just because that was what Chris wanted to hear. Becca doesn’t regret her time on The Bachelor though, she feels like it pushed her to “open herself up to love.”
Whitney Bischoff joins Chris Harrison and her fiancé Chris Soules on stage next, she raves that she loves Chris “more than anything” and she is the happiest girl in the world. She gushes about how exciting it is that they are getting married. Whitney says it is surreal to get to be together in public and not have to hide their engagement anymore. Chris goes on and on about how amazing Whitney is and that she is one of the most caring people he has ever met. Chris Harrison laughs that Chris’s family would have “ran him off the farm” if he didn’t choose Whitney. The host quizzes them about the future, WhItney says that eventually she plans to move to Arlington, right now they just want to enjoy being engaged and not having to keep it a secret anymore. Chris Harrison shows a clip of Whitney and Chris talking about how excited they are to start making babies – they both brag about how cute their kids are going to be.
Before they cut to commercial, Chris Harrison spots crazy Ashley Salter in the audience. He calls her out on live TV and says that he is still waiting for her to respond to his invitation to be on Bachelor In Paradise this spring. Ashley laughs that she “supposes” she might be there.
Chris Harrison puts Whitney Bischoff in the hot seat, he asks her if she is really ready to move to Arlington, Iowa. Whitney explains that Arlington is very important to Chris and his family – so that means that it is important to her too. Whitney confesses that she has been sneaking off to Iowa to visit Chris and his parents Linda and Gary because it is not that far from her home in Chicago. Jimmy Kimmel joins Chris Soules and his new fiancé on stage – he jokes that he can’t believe Whitney hasn’t been watching the show, Jimmy thinks that Whitney should have seen Chris with “his tongue down Britt’s throat.”
Whitney jokes that she doesn’t blame Chris because Britt Nilsson is beautiful. Jimmy says that he has a wedding present for Chris and Whitney – he runs back stage and returns with a cow, he says that cow’s name is “Juan Pablo.”
Chris Harrison jokes that Jimmy is taking “Juan Pablo out to pasture.” Now, it is time for the Bachelorette announcement that every one has been waiting for. Chris asks the audience if they think the Bachelorette should be Britt Nilsson or Kaitlyn Bristowe. The Bachelor producers have decided that this year there is going to be two Bachelorettes. On night one of The Bachelorette Britt and Kaitlyn will meet 25 men, and those 25 men will decide which woman they would like to compete for – Britt or Kaitlyn.
Britt and Kaitlyn join Chris Harrison on stage, Kaitlyn jokes that between her sense of humor and Britt’s tears – combined they will make a great Bachelorette. They joke that they are both going to wind up in a hot-tub with one man during The Bachelorette. Chris Harrison asks what they think the first night will be like – Kaitlyn and Britt laugh that it will be fun for sure. “The Bachelelorettes” will debut on May 18th.
