Cassandra was pulled away from her boyfriend hunky Nick on tonight’s episode of “The Player” when Johnson called and said the Gamblers were demanding a new game.

Apparently the gamblers have been keeping a close eye on Mr. Kane and so they’re aware of recent threat against one of Kane’s clients. Though, again, they didn’t seem to be that concerned when they heard a man and his wife were almost blown up. In fact they thought it would make an interesting game if they laid odds against Kane stopping an obviously devoted hit-man.

And so the game begun. Kane didn’t want to bring his clients into the gambling but he didn’t have a choice. If he wanted access to the ADA the most adept computer in the world then he had to play by the Johnson’s rules. Which meant that anything goes and nothing is sacred.

Including Kane’s friends. It was Ray Capello that was his client but Ray’s wife Monica was a good friend to Ginny and she has a past with Kane. So he didn’t want to her get hurt if she somehow got caught up in the hit out on her husband. Therefore he had Cassandra look into who set the bomb and he thought he could end everything if he just got the hit-man out of the way.

And use him to deal with whoever paid for the hit.

However Devin Long was soon murdered after his car bomb failed to do the job he was hired for. So, at first, it seemed like whoever had put out the hit wanted results right away and killed Devin for failing. But then again Kane hadn’t looked too hard at the scene seeing as the man that killed Devin was also in the building and was prepared kill Kane as well.

Luckily Kane escaped with his life but Cassandra soon hit him with devastating news. Someone had put out a bounty on Devin for a quarter of million dollars and that’s why he was killed. And it was not until later that Kane realized the bounty hunters would also go after Monica. The person who had ordered Devin to kill her husband.

Monica had grown up as the daughter of the infamous Pauly Agostino. So she was a mob princess and even after her father went to prison he still controlled a lot of the area. Area that Monica’s husband now ran for his father-in-law. But then Ray began beating his wife who was the cherished daughter of Agostino and so Agostino gave her Devin to help her with her husband.

And when Devin was killed, he spilled to Ray’s people that it was Monica that put out the hit. So Ray put a bounty on Devin and his wife with the condition that no one can collect the money until she’s dead.

But Kane wasn’t going to allow that to happen. Once he found out that Ray had been hitting his wife from the very beginning, he moved to protect her rather than Ray seeing as that was the one thing he never did before even with all the warning signs. Like the way she befriended Ginny for instance.

Ginny had patched Monica up after her husband truly got nasty with the way he treated her one night and Ginny let the other woman know that she was always there if she wanted to talk. And eventually Monica did reach out to Ginny. Her husband had thrown her downstairs in spite of her pregnancy and she needed Ginny’s help to deal with the miscarriage.

Afterwards, though, she promised she would leave her husband and she didn’t.

Yet pregnancy had way of changing someone’s mind. Monica wanted things to be different with her current pregnancy and she knew her husband wouldn’t lay off. So she tried to kill him before he could hurt their child in a preemptive strike.

And it wasn’t until Kane heard Monica’s story in addition to what she was fighting for that he tried to get her deal. He talked it over with Cal at LVPD and he wanted Monica to testify against her husband. That way she wouldn’t have to run and she could still be nearby to have her baby.

However she was scared and she knew no one talked in their business. To do so would still mean her death. And so Monica didn’t want talk but fortunately her husband did. Cassandra got a recording of him organizing a hit on his pregnant wife and it was delivered anonymously to the police.

So Ray still got arrested and, in Cal doing that, Monica was safe. Ray couldn’t afford to target her after he had already been accused of trying to kill her.

Only Monica was no longer afraid about testifying and in the end she agreed to do it. Not just for her but also for Kane who had taken a bullet protecting her. Though, funnily enough, no one ever got a chance to testify and it became a moot point when Ray landed in the same jail as Agostino.

And as for Kane, he felt like he could no longer trust Johnson after the other man sent in killers to up the game.

THE END!
