That one call he managed to make is now haunting Kane. He just can’t let go of the fact that his wife out there and that someone is holding her against her will. Yet he has no leads and passing information onto Johnson has to be conducted in secret.

So on tonight’s episode of “The Player”, Kane didn’t fight the call from work. In fact he was looking forward to it despite his unexpected guest. Ginny’s niece Danny is having some problems back home with her home so she took the bus to Las Vegas. And Kane agreed to put her up until he’s spoken to her mom himself.

But the bet tonight is dangerous at least dangerous for everyone in Las Vegas. There seems to be a serial killer that has been working the area for the last twenty years and no one has even gotten close. Though that last part might have something to do with the killer’s timing. He only kills every decade.

The serial killer is known as the Norseman and he kills according to age old Pagan sacrifices. As in he removes the heads and the hands off of his victims. So the bet is “Can Alex Kane Stop the Norseman From Completing His Ritual Before Halloween Night Is Over”? And by time Kane had received the bet, the Norseman had already one out of two sacrifices.

Yet despite his best intention, Kane didn’t have his mind firmly on the task at hand. He had his detective friend Cal breathing down his neck. Wanting to know who Kane had gotten mixed up with. And Kane also had to deal with his seemingly out of control niece. Apparently running away from home wasn’t enough from her. Now she’s shoplifting as well.

So Kane tried to tell Cal that he wasn’t into anything illegal but there was only so much time to confer that before Cassandra found a way to listen in on their conversation. And when Kane was done viewing the body of the first victim alongside Cal, he then had to rush to bail out his niece. She said she was going to steal the snow globe of Las Vegas as a thank-you gift for Alex for letting her stay with him.

And Kane found that to be sweet. Just not sweet enough to risk losing a very bet over. So he left Danny in police custody while he pursued the Norseman. The Norseman had been known to stalk his victims beforehand so Kane knew where he was going to hit next.

Cassandra had picked up the messages that the killer had sent and he stalked him to a nearby party. However the killer didn’t turn out to be the suspect he and Cal thought they were looking for. He turned out to be a person they never suspected nor could indetntify.

But the important thing is Kane did stop him and when he was leaving the police station – the Norseman paid close attention to both him and his niece.

So that was the moment when Kane figured out the Norseman can hold a grudge. And that information proved useful. First when the Norseman escaped prison and later when Kane was running around town trying to stop the Norseman before he killed again.

See he had stayed at the station just long enough to make an attempt on Cal’s life and gather the necessary information that he needed. Cal being the detective that’s been hunting him since 2005 and forcing him to kill his own brother who had been Cal’s initial suspect. Unfortunately when the brother realized who else matched his profile – he decided to turn the real Norseman in and that led to his death.

And if that’s how he Norseman’s mind worked then it wasn’t surprising that he targeted Danny as his next sacrifice. Remember that information he got, well he got in after he broke into the police records room and read Danny’s case file. There he got Kane’s address and it led him right to Dany. Where he found Dany alone because her uncle had been out on the streets looking for him.

Yet Kane got to the Norseman in time and he stopped the other man from killing/ sacrificing his niece according to the ritual. And so when the clock ran out, Kane didn’t have to worry about fighting the Norseman. Johnson was ready to step in as the Pit Boss to clean up after leftover mess.

So, by the next morning, Cal found the Norseman decapitated amongst his former sacrifices and Kane was gone. He had promptly driven Danny all the way home to Arizona.

But when he returned home, Johnson had some answers for him regarding the number he passed on. Johnson said he tracked it down and that he got images using facial recognition of Ginny from two days ago when she was spotted with a man at Miami International airport. And what that means is she could now be anywhere.

And back in Las Vegas, there appears to be someone that Johnson can’t get rid of and that might cause problems with the House.

THE END!
