Erin was put in a position she didn’t want to be in on tonight’s all new episode “Blue Bloods” when she caught a friend abusing the law.

Apparently an old friend of hers, who just so happens to have also been her mentor at District Attorney’s office, had recently suffered a personal tragedy when his wife passed away. So Erin had offered her friend whatever support he needed, but Judge Wilson had said he was going to be just fine and also that he was going to concentrate on work as way to get through everything else. And while that had been noble of him, he soon ended up crossing quite a few lines when Erin as well as other ADAs began noticing his usual practices in the courtroom.

It seemed the judge had been hiding his anger over what had happened to him and Erin for hadn’t noticed that anger until suddenly he was trying to take it out on the defendants in his courtroom. Which was where Erin had drawn a line. Erin believed that everyone had a right to a fair trial and she didn’t think all defendants needed as harsh of a punishment as Judge Wilson was dishing out.

The judge had actually ignored a victim’s request as well as the ADA agreement to drop charges down to a misdemeanor on a case about a man hitting his wife. Though that had been a first offence for the defendant and that the wife involved appeared to be willing to forgive. And so it just hadn’t made sense for the judge to ignore everyone by indicting the husband on charges that carrying up to a maximum of seven years behind bars.

But the judge had defended himself on that one by saying he couldn’t take the risk. He said too many times these spousal abuse charges get dismissed and then they become something else. Like something more dangerous or possibly a murder charge.

And oddly that had been Linda’s main cause of concern when she had asked her husband Danny to check in with a friend of hers’. As it happens Linda’s friend Laurie had been divorced from her ex-husband for little over a year and at first everything had been fine between them. Yet things soon changed when Laurie began to date again and it has only gotten worse now that she’s been talking about marriage to her boyfriend.

According to Laurie, that’s when the ex-husband Ronnie started to show up at all odd hours of the day and taking their son Matthew without her permission. So Danny and Baez had promised to talk to this Ronnie and see if they can get him to ease up on his ex-wife. And unfortunately nothing they said seemed to resonate with him.

Ronnie had gone on to tell the detectives that he was still Laurie’s husband because they had been married in front of god. And apparently no earthly judge could divorce them. However, Danny had tried to reason with him. He told Ronnie that there was no going back and that all the man should focus on was his son with Laurie who was getting hurt by all the scenes his father was creating.

Yet, like Judge Wilson, Ronnie just refused to see the other side of the argument so he continued down a very destructive path.

The judge had later thrown out exculpatory evidence that would have exonerated a different defendant. And after the ADA on that case had actually spoken out against the judge’s actions, Judge Wilson accused him of being an embarrassment to the District Attorney’s office. So that’s when Erin knew she could no longer ignore the problem and she chose to report him to the Judiciary for his bias rulings. Even though it had resulted in her suspension at the DA’s office.

And Ronnie’s mistake had been much worse. The man had actually kidnaped Laurie’s fiancée because he blamed him for Laurie not taking back. Yet Danny had been the hero of this piece when he managed to talk Ronnie from going even further with his plan which had originally been to kill Paul.

So both Judge Wilson and Ronnie had thrown away everything they had ever worked towards. And while the judge did eventually come to see where Erin was coming from, its Ronnie that will be going to jail for false imprisonment as well as a possibly charge of attempted murder. But through all of this – it had been Frank who learned the art of compromise.

Frank and the Madam Speaker of the City Council have been butting heads over the Broken Window policy. And although he did have the numbers to continue placing his officers in at risk neighborhoods, he came to realize that no community should fear the police. Not when it’s the police’s job to protect them.

Therefore, Frank asked the Madame Speaker if they could work something out that would be beneficial to both the community and the police department.

And we’ll see where that goes!

THE END!
