Dancing With The Stars 2016 Spoilers: Derek Hough OUT, Will Not Be Dancing on DWTS Season 22

Dancing With The Stars 2016 spoilers confirm that Derek Hough is OUT – and will not be competing on Season 22 of the ABC dance competition. Over the weekend the reigning Mirror Ball Trophy Winner took to social media and announced that he was heading back to Broadway to work on a new Harvey Weinstein production titled, “Singin In The Rain.”

Entertainment Tonight is now confirming that Derek Hough will not be returning to the Dancing With The Stars stage during Season 22, and is “taking a break” while he works on his latest Broadway gig. Several DWTS fans are going to be disappointed – after his stint last season as Bindi Irwin’s partner, everyone was eager to see who he would be paired up with and whether or not he could bring home a seventh Mirror Ball Trophy Award.

Derek has been hinting at taking some time off from Dancing With The Stars for a few years now – but the producers kept offering him deals that he couldn’t turn down, and going above and beyond to work around his schedule. It looks like Hough has finally decided it is time to move on though.

Ironically, it was just announced earlier this year that Derek Hough’s sister Julianna Hough is also leaving Dancing With The Stars. The Hough’s insist that Julianne left on her own accord to pursue a movie career (again) – but it’s pretty clear she didn’t have a choice because fan favorite Len Goodman was returning to the judges’ panel in Season 22, and Carrie Ann Inabra and Bruno Tonioli obviously weren’t going anywhere.

So DWTS fans, what do you think of an entire season of the ABC dance competition without Derek Hough or Julianne Hough? Will you miss the brother and sister duo, or are you happy to see them go?
