“Days of Our Lives” (DOOL) spoilers reveal that another return is on the way. We’ve been hearing about a lot of departures lately, but it’s good to know there’ll be some familiar faces popping up as well. In a recent Facebook post, Jaime Lyn Bauer confirmed that she’ll be reprising her role as Laura Horton.
“I got a call from the casting agent of Days of Our Lives saying that I have been written in and they’d like me to come to work,” noted Bauer. She pointed out that she’s supposed to be in three episodes as of right now, but “it looks like there will be more.”
It appears Bauer is set to tape these shows soon and they should air the first week in September.
For Bauer and her family, this news is coming at a great time. Bauer’s husband, Jeremy Swan, used to be a makeup artist at DOOL. After being severely injured in an accident last July, Swan was disabled for three and half months. He was finally able to get back to work, but he was let go five weeks later.
Fortunately, Bauer was offered the chance to return and she quickly jumped at it. Bauer seems thrilled to be back and it’s clear that she’s on board for future appearances if they come up. There’s no word yet on what storyline Laura will be involved in, but it’s sure to include her family.
Since Laura is expected to air in early September, she may be around before Abigail reenters the picture. If they find a recast and things move forward as planned, the new Abigail probably won’t air until October. However, Laura and Abigail could cross paths if Bauer extends the gig.
It’s also possible that Laura will show up to assist her daughter, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), in some way. If Abby is sent to a psychiatric facility, then maybe Laura will help Jen prepare for her arrival back home.
Since Laura spent many years in a sanitarium, perhaps she could provide guidance on reintegration into society. It wouldn’t be too surprising if Abigail moved back in with Jennifer after she received treatment somewhere.
Of course, Abigail may exit the show in different manner entirely. We don’t have confirmation on how Abby will leave “Days.” Laura may be coming to help Jennifer battle her pill addiction if that’s still going on by then.
Most viewers are hoping DOOL will wrap that up before September, but soaps aren’t always known for speedy storylines.
It sounds like we’ll just have to wait and see how this plays out. For now, Laura’s return remains a bit of a mystery. Stick with “Days of Our Lives” for updates on Laura’s appearances.
