“Days of Our Lives” spoilers reveal that Theresa (Jen Lilley) will notice Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) is acting a bit bizarre. DOOL viewers know that Jennifer has been battling intense pain ever since the night of the car crash. Jen finally broke down and took half a pain pill, but it didn’t do much to take the edge off.
It looks like Jennifer will begin upping the dosage so she can get a little relief. Unfortunately, the situation could escalate quickly. Theresa might suspect that Jennifer could be hooked on something. After all, Theresa nearly died of a drug overdose once. If Daniel (Shawn Christian) hadn’t intervened, Theresa could’ve died that day.

Luckily, Theresa has turned her life around. “Days” writers may be using this as another opportunity to show Theresa’s newfound kindness toward Jennifer and her family. They spent a long time being fierce enemies, but the tension has lifted slightly.
Of course, Jennifer will undoubtedly deny that anything is going on. It seems more suspicions will have to swirl before Jennifer truly addresses the problem. “Days of Our Lives” spoilers say Eric (Greg Vaughan) will figure out that Jen has been popping too many pills. He’ll confront Jennifer and demand to know if she’s addicted to painkillers.
Jen will probably remain in denial. Nevertheless, this could be Eric’s chance to redeem himself. Eric took Daniel’s life, but he could end up saving Jennifer’s. Then again, Jennifer may continue her downward spiral.
Jack (Matthew Ashford) will be making some appearances in the spring and DOOL buzz suggests it will be in a ghostly format. Could an overdose leave Jennifer lingering between life and death? It’s possible. It might be a good way of weaving Jack into this story. He could urge Jennifer to stay and clean up her act. Don’t go into the light, Jen!
We also know Kate Mansi is exiting the role of Abigail around the same time as Jack’s return. There’s been no official news about an Abigail recast, but word has it they may be looking for one. That means Abigail will likely leave Salem for a while.
What if Abigail accompanies Jennifer somewhere to help her kick this addiction? Abby could provide support for a few months off canvas. Jennifer could come back down the road and bring a whole new Abigail home with her.
We’re just spinning ideas here, but that would be a plausible route to explain Abigail’s absence. It should be interesting to see what direction “Days of Our Lives” writers decided to go in. You can expect Mansi’s last air date to be sometime in May or June. Stick with the NBC soap for updates on how this tough exit will be handled.
