General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that the GH serial killer will soon strike again, but this unknown villain plot is leaving many GH fans less than thrilled. What happened to the big bad villains that terrorized Port Charles in the past? We need a villain we love to hate, that’s larger than life, and inspires real terror. Here’s five top GH villains we’d like to see return – what do you think – which one would like to see return to the ABC soap now?
#1 Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers)
It feels like the shadow of Helena is looming over the Cassadine Island plot but it’s not the same without the evil matriarch gleefully rubbing her hands together, smirking, and stylishly tormenting the targets of her evil scheme. Since most GH fans don’t think Helena is really dead anyway, why not bring her back?
With Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) presumed “dead” and at least missing, Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) could use his evil great-grandma around. Plus, with Valentin Cassadine (James Stuart) finally here to make trouble, Helena might be the only one who could take on her wicked step-son.
#2 Heather Webber (Robin Mattson)
Why leave Heather rotting in the maximum security psychiatric prison when she can be out and about in Port Charles scheming? Wouldn’t it be great for her to be lurking keeping an eye on the new romance of Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth)? They should get Heather back in the game!
With Franco under scrutiny for the GH serial killer case, it’s the perfect time to bring Heather back full-time with claws out particularly as Naomi Dreyfus (Robin Riker) is back and there’s history there – and Liz may have a secret sister that will be part of Franco’s life. Heather = trouble = great storyline.
#3 Manny Ruiz (Robert LaSardo)
Sure Manny supposedly died, but there’s that look-a-like priest brother Mateo who could come back to avenge his family. It might be good to have a super-bad priest in Port Charles since we’ve also got a super-good one with Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen). Plus, the Corinthos mob needs another rival in town.
Manny Ruiz was one of the deadliest and memorable villains that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) faced off with and since Julian Jerome (William deVry) is out of play, Sonny needs some controversy other than dealing with his kids’ love lives. Bringing back a Ruiz mobster would be incredible.
#4 Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roche)
Jerry is in WSB custody thanks to Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) but that doesn’t mean that he can’t escape and break free to make trouble. This is the man who tried to wipe out the entire population of Port Charles – he’s a villain worthy of an epic storyline.
Why not bring Jerry back as part of the Valentin plot since Jerry also has a Cassadine tie? There’s so much opportunity to use Jerry in the current storylines. What’s also great about Jerry is that he doesn’t focus on just one enemy, but is willing to engage in widespread mayhem against many targets.
#5 Cesar Faison (Anders Hove)
There’s lots undone and unsaid with Faison. He’s still got his mad obsession with Anna and his weird relationship with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). Faison is a great all-purpose villain with ties to the Cassadines, Scorpios, Donelys and more. Plus, he’s flat out insane which is fun to watch.
There’s also backstory with Faison and Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) from him poisoning his then-wife Susan. Faison would be a great cast addition that could torment many Port Charles citizenry with glee. Bringing back Faison could breathe life into GH storylines that are feeling limp lately.
