General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Jonathan Jackson Returns to Port Charles as Lucky Spencer After Nashville Cancelled?

“General Hospital” (GH) spoilers announce that a fan favorite may be returning! It has recently been announced that Nashville Season 4 will be the final season for ABC’s show. What does this mean for General Hospital?

General Hospital spoilers say, well, it could mean everything! This revelation has opened up the possible return of Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) prodigal son. That’s right folks, Lucky Spencer and not just any Lucky, the original Lucky Spencer, Jonathan Jackson.

Jonathan Jackson, who introduced the role of Lucky Spencer in 1993, has most recently been playing the part of Avery Barkley on the television show Nashville. This particular role was a good fit for the actor because it allowed him to pursue both his love for acting and music.

With that show no longer being available as a platform for his music, GH spoilers suggest that it is very possible that he will return to his roots and his extensive fan base as Lucky, even if just for a short time or on a recurring basis. In fact, Jackson most recently visited Port Charles in July 2015 to say good-bye to his on screen dad making it clear the doors to General Hospital are very open.

Other than Jackson’s short return in 2015, the role of Lucky has been absent for quite some time. The return of such a pivotal character would send shockwaves through nearly every storyline.

The connection between Lucky and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) would instantly outshine the looming sadness of the Liz/Jason (Billy Miller) split; opening interesting dynamics between the ‘new’ Jason and Franco (Roger Howarth). After all, all three men have a vested interest in Liz and Jason’s son Jake (Hudson West).

The return would also have a connection to Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) providing both a breath of fresh air and a hint of tradition back to General Hospital. Though Anthony Geary is no longer playing Luke Spencer, there is no doubt that fans would enjoy watching Laura and Lucky rekindle their adventures; maybe including baby sister Lulu (Emme Rylan) this time.

Who would be impacted the greatest with the return of Lucky? Do you think he would surly run back to Liz or is there another lady in Port Chuck that could catch his attention? Share your comments below and come back to CDL often for more “General Hospital” spoilers and news.
