General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) may be part of the Cassadine Island story after Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) discovered suspicious remains in the catacombs under the mansion on the Greek isle.
Lulu went into a panic when she stumbled across the dead body because she wondered if it was her dad Luke. Lulu found a bracelet on the body and an earring that look like her dad’s bling. Lulu wondered her dad’s jewelry would be on a body and was in denial that it was him.
Lulu had a diatribe about whether it was a setup and how that would make no sense because no one knew she would be there, so who would plant a dead body to be found down in the tunnels? All of this was information for GH fans to have watchers wondering whether Luke might be dead.
But GH showrunners wouldn’t kill off Luke after he’s been gone all this time, right? General Hospital spoilers have been simmering for months, though, that Anthony Geary would return for a short story arc as long as it was a good, juicy plot.
Geary specifically said he wouldn’t return for something minor like a wedding, birth of a child or anything mundane. However, a life and death mega-plot on Cassadine Island is a big deal and a worthy storyline for a return of this legacy character for a short arc.
After all, Luke’s departure was deeply unsatisfying to most GH fans. That scene of him wandering off into the fog was a big letdown. To have Luke back for a big heroic storyline where he could save his loved ones then leave on good footing would be great.
Could Luke show up to rescue Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) and Lulu from Valentin Cassadine (James Stuart)? Or is there a chance that Luke is somehow captive on the island and Lulu and Laura might rescue him?
It seems more likely that Luke would be the rescuer, though…
The bottom line is that there was no reason to make the body in the basement resemble Luke unless he would somehow play into the Cassadine Island adventure story. In fact, it could have been Luke himself that faked that body to throw someone off his trail – like a Cassadine.
Luke might have been on the island under Helena Cassadine’s (Constance Towers) control or Valentin might have nabbed Luke somehow and he got away by faking his death. But there’s no way that body is Luke’s – no way that General Hospital would kill off a legacy character with a basement body dump.
Lulu’s find is much more likely a General Hospital spoilers hint that Luke will be back on our screens soon and embroiled in this plot. We know there is more to come on the island. A mystery woman will emerge soon. Nikolas Cassadine (Nick Stabile/Tyler Christopher) needs to be found – dead or alive (likely alive).
Plus, there’s little girl Athena (Jazmyn Skye Vale) yet to come into play. Also, Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth) will arrive soon to find the woman and child that Jake Webber (Hudson West) will soon tell them about that he knew on the island.
There’s lots more island story left to tell, lots more danger, and ample opportunity for Anthony Geary to make his triumphant return to GH so Luke Spencer can save the day. What do you think GH fans? Was the body that Lulu found a major hint that Luke is coming back soon?
