General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Tuesday, January 3 reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) got his hopes up too fast when Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) showed up for a steamy New Year’s kiss. They are passionate for a moment then it all blows up in his face.
Carly says she can’t risk losing someone else she loves to his mob life. Does Sonny have an argument to convince her to stay? Carly can’t take any more loss after Morgan Corinthos’ (Bryan Craig) death. But she has more in store thanks to Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier).
Nelle and Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) had New Year’s together but we never saw a kiss. Nelle obviously knows her tie to Carly and the family so is she not kissing because he’s her brother or nephew? Or will we get a kiss on the first 2017 episode that dispels all the brother-sister talk?
Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth) ring in the New Year on a less than happy note after the PCPD released him. Franco insists he didn’t kill Tom Baker (Don Harvey) and asks if she believes him. Liz believes he didn’t kill Tom, but there’s more to it.
Aside from the homicide question, Franco broke about 30 laws by drugging, kidnapping and tormenting Tom so he’s not crime-free. It’s just the stabbing part he didn’t do. Liz has to process all of this and this is a major stumbling block for Friz who can’t ever have a moment of peace.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Grahn) confronts Julian Jerome (William deVry) on the secrets he’s still keeping from her but before they can get too far down that road, uninvited and unexpected guests disturb their privacy. Who’s ringing the bell looking for answers?
Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) and Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) are there on her porch but Alexis tries to get them to go away. That doesn’t work. Sam pushes her away inside telling her mom they need to talk now so that means Sam and Jason see Julian.
Jason and Sam want to know why Winston Rudge (David Lee) was at the house. Alexis knows nothing since he wasn’t there to see her. Julian won’t offer Sam and Jason any substantial information. Anything he tells them will put them at risk and Julian doesn’t want them hurt.
Sam wonders later to Jason whether she got the whole truth from her parents but they leave without further argument. Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) discuss the upcoming custody battle over drinks at the MetroCourt.
Dante is worried about Lulu’s constant arguments with Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) but Lulu doesn’t get it. She asks why he thinks her fighting with Nina could affect the custody case. Dante has to break this down in terms Lulu will understand.
Nina and Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) are best buddies. Lulu is almost a stranger to Charlotte. Lulu attacking Nina could further alienate Charlotte and there’s no telling what the kid could tell the judge if asked about who she wants to be with during the custody fight.
The new Mrs. Cassadine and her husband are ready for a sexy honeymoon night. Nina tells her hubby Valentin Cassadine (James Stuart) that they did the right thing getting married for Charlotte. They both agree that even though this was for Charlotte, it’s a real marriage and they care for one another.
As a reminder, there is no new GH on Friday, December 30 – ABC will play a rerun of the November 14 episode. Then on Monday, January 2, football replaces GH. The first new GH of 2017 is Tuesday, January 3 – share your comments on our spoilers for that episode. Tune into CDL often for the hottest General Hospital spoilers and news.
