Tonight on Showtime the highly entertaining show House of Lies returns with an all new Sunday April 10, season 5 premiere called “Creative Destruction Phenomenon” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, season 5 begins with Marty (Don Cheadle) back on top and navigating the hazards of co-parenting with Jeannie, (Kristen Bell) along with each other’s new relationships.

#HouseOfLies starts with Marty at home looking at all the things that are his including his kids. He goes out to his hot car and peals out. He goes to his office and heads upstairs. Upstairs, he looks around. Clyde and Doug run over to him fussing.
Clyde says Doug took Jeannie’s office and it’s his. Marty walks off trying to ignore them. People surround him and Clyde rants about a coup d’etat. A woman says a guy called and says Marty is an idiot. Marty finally screams no. He escapes them.
Marty monologues about how he defines himself and smirks that he has a ton of sh-t. He walks off and the crowd disperses. Doug and Clyde go into the board room with Marty still bitching. JR is there, he’s Doug’s mentee.
Doug calls Clyde a thief and Clyde says Doug is preying on new associates. Marty tells them to share Jeannie’s office and says JR gets their old office. JR says Jeannie is the new CFO at the competitor. Marty asks what she wants.
Clyde says she’s mean and slutty. Doug says he heard she has a sex tape. JR says he thinks she’s fishing and says he looked at the other company and says Teddy isn’t looking for change and says Davis/Dexter is rolling in profit and has no need to change.
Marty says corporate Jeannie is terrifying and knows all their tricks. Clyde says he’s scared and asks Marty to hold him. They run out and Marty says white people right? Marty says drop me a beat and JR does then Marty yells at him for taking black bait.
Jeannie is having her makeup done when Doug, Clyde and Marty show up. Doug starts griping about the battle over her old office. Marty asks about her BF and she says Mark works in the other complex. They wonder why she’s having hair and makeup done and she says she has a press conference.
Marty threatens to sit down front and throw singles. Jeannie tells them to get to work and says she wants to go balls deep on R&D and says she’ll make Teddy see it. She says the P&L is headed downhill based on expiring patents.
Jeannie says her boobs are leaking and heads to the daycare. She tells Marty and the guys to back into what she wants. Marty is freaking out when she grabs the wrong baby. Jeannie says it looked a lot like our baby. Then Jeannie remembers she left the baby at home with the nanny.
Doug says this is why women can’t be president. The presentation starts and the CMO, CFO and others do a rap including Jeannie. Marty and the guys record this on their smart phones. Jeannie then introduces Teddy who takes the stage and does his rap.
Marty says he’s seen the soul of white people and they should put it back. The crowd of sales reps cheer as Teddy welcomes them and says they’re ready to make an ungodly amount of money. Later, Jeannie tells them they’re squeezing the bucks out of dying patents.
Doug asks Jeannie for a boner pill sample and says be careful. Mark shows up and Jeannie says she was giving him pills for his ED. Mark says he’s got to get back to his lab to wait to get fired. He kisses her and leaves.
The guys mock her and Clyde asks how she ended up with such a great guy and then says she and Marty have a black baby. Marty says Doug gets the office. Roscoe is happy about his social media status and Klare is there preaching her vegan ways while Roscoe acts nuts.
Jeannie shows up and Klare says she looks hot as Roscoe grabs the baby. Klare asks how’s her job and Jeannie says it’s fun, hard and confusing. Klare says female friendship is the new black and Jeannie just stares then says she has reservations.
She kisses the baby and tells Roscoe to make her as cool as him. Marty follows her to the door and says don’t treat me GF like an asshole since I don’t do that to your BF. Jeannie says she’s lovely and asks if she’s a vegan chef spokesmodel. He says she’s an Instagram figure.
Jeannie says she hopes Klare gives good head. Roscoe says the baby crapped and Jeannie takes off. Later, Jeannie screams as Mark gets her off and says she could get used to this. She starts to say she loves him then stops and he says he feels the same, whatever that is. They kiss and he offers her more wine. She says she wants more of him.
She starts to say Marty’s name then tries to change it to Marky. Mark asks if she called him Marty and says he gets it if she did. She says she’s tired and drinking wine and he says it’s okay. She says sorry. Mark says it’s weird but he accepts it.
He says people do weird shit that’s hard to explain and says it’s super weird but is a turn on then asks if that makes him weird. She says maybe then says sorry and says she likes his voice. They cuddle and he says it’s part of who she is and she turns him on.
He says he once called his third grade teacher mom once but not in a purely sexual way then says his mom is pretty attractive. She falls asleep on his chest while he’s rambling. Marty wakes and gets out of bed. He finds Klare in the kitchen making coffee.
He puts his arms around her and kisses her and says there are better ways to wake up. He pulls down her top and she says what about Roscoe but he says the kid sleeps like a rock. She says what about Jeremiah and eh says he might walk on and she hops on the counter so they can get busy.
Marty has Clyde tell Jeannie that Terry has a history of failing upwards and blaming others. They tell her he’s a stay the course kind of guy. She says maybe they can go to the board. Marty says doing an end run will make Teddy sh-t his bespoke pants.
Teddy walks into the meeting and Teddy says whatever Marty brings has to be bold –letters dazzling. Clyde pulls Doug back who is being an idiot. Marty tells Teddy they’re going to crush it then he takes a call then has to leave.
Marty goes to meet Skip Galweather. They greet each other warmly despite their complex past and Marty says Doug still used that briefcase. Marty asks why he called him 14 times yesterday and Skip says he wants to buy him. Marty says that was outlawed a while back.
Skip says he wants to buy K&A and Marty says he does not have the skrilla. Skip says he represents the Kohl brothers. Marty calls them Hitler one and two. Skip says this is the big payday. He says they will pay him to walk away and never look back.
Skip says it’s all about consolidation now. Skip says they have to get bigger and rage against the dying of the light. Skip says K&A is a little undervalued and says they will wildly overpay. Marty says thanks and says he has been thinking a lot lately about who he is.
Marty says he defines himself by conflict with mother-kers like him and likes to grind his enemies into dust that he walks on. Marty says he will get his valuations jacked then they can talk. He calls the Kohl brothers f-ing fascists and Skip calls him a whining b-tch.
They shake hands and Skip says he’s got the tab covered. Marty tells him to go f-k himself and Skip says back at you. Marty smiles and walks out.
