There’s a new report that suggests Princess Diana was once more obsessed with the celebrity spotlight than Kate Middleton. In fact, one magazine editor makes the claim that Princess Diana loved being in the limelight while Kate is not attracted to fame at all, suggesting that the Duchess only does it because it’s part of her job.
According to British Vogue Editor-In-Chief Alexandra Shulman, she says that’s not the case at all. According to E! Online, she said, “Diana was more interested in that high-voltage celebrity, that was something she really embraced. The Duchess of Cambridge is prepared to do her bit, but it’s not one of the things that she most cares about Dressing up, that’s a professional side to her. It’s a sort of uniform, all those lovely couture costumes.”
Yet, some would even say that Kate Middleton is obsessed with her public image and how she’s always considered one of the best-dressed women in the world. After all, that’s all she has to offer. Fans have long believed that Kate couldn’t even hold a candle next to her late mother-in-law, even if she tried.
Unlike the Duchess, Princess Diana was passionately involved in her charities and always very enthusiastic about her royal engagements. Princess Diana wasn’t interested in being a celebrity, but she was thrown into the celebrity spotlight by the media thanks to her natural beauty, grace and appeal.
Even with all the behind-the-scenes training she’s received, Kate Middleton still comes off as stiff and rigid whenever she’s forced to make an appearance in public.
If the Duchess of Cambridge didn’t want to live such a public life, then clearly she shouldn’t have married into the British royal family. Kate Middleton might want to stay home with her children instead of engaging herself in her charity work, but at the end of the day she still has certain royal obligations that have to be met as they come with her title.
There’s simply no comparing Princess Diana to Kate Middleton. Prince William’s wife wants the celebrity life, but she just doesn’t want to put any work into it. That’s the one and only reason why she sits at home.
