Major Crimes Recap

A Hollywood star had been found dead of a basic run of the mill overdose on tonight’s episode of “Major Crimes” however Flynn had been asked his daughter to take a second look at the case. Flynn’s daughter was apparently a good friend of the star’s sobriety coach Jared. So she had asked her father to take a second look because Jared felt that the great Chris Walker had been murdered and that he hadn’t failed at his one job. But the police that investigated Chris’s death thought differently.

Chris Walker had grown up as a child star on TV. So his frequent trips to rehab as well as his hard partying days were well-documented and unfortunately that led to quick estimations that he had willing gone back to drugs when he died. However, Jared swears that wasn’t true.

Jared said that he was hired by the production company on Chris’s newest show and what was supposed to be his comeback so he said that he had been with Chris at almost every minutes. Jared was the one that walk Chris up, made him breakfast, and so it was the fact that he had been talking to his mother that he realized he hadn’t seen Chris in almost a full fifteen minutes.

So Jared said that was when he checked on Chris and that he had found the actor unconscious in the sauna. Yet, when the detectives and even Flynn pointed out that Chris could have been hiding what he was doing, Jared told them that wasn’t possible.

He said that Chris had to take a mandatory drug test every morning and that he had been clean on the day he died like always. Also another thing that Jared felt worth mentioning was the fact that the police that had first showed up at the scene had drug dogs and that the dogs hadn’t gone off because they hadn’t sensed any sort of drugs on premises.

Though it was pretty hard to trust Jared because it was his career as a sobriety coach that had taken a beating. Jared was supposed to be the one that kept Chris sober while Chris finished filming his latest show Gold Storm so Jared had a lot riding on blaming Chris’s death on someone else and it turns out he was holding back on the police.

The captain had ordered her men to go over Chris’s place again with a fine tooth comb and they had found oxy in the house. It had actually been crushed up and hidden in Chris’s protein shake that Jared made for him every morning. So Jared might involuntarily have given Chris the drugs yet it doesn’t seem he knew about that even as he probably knew about the HGH.

HGH was a human growth hormone and that’s what Chris had injected himself. But HGH requires a prescription and that’s something Chris didn’t have. So Jared should have been onto that though he overlooked that and might have been onto someone killing Chris. Chris was drug addict so he would have known that so much heroin mixed into his protein shake would have caused an overdose. Especially as Jared was the one scooping out and had no idea not to take so much from the middle of the bottle.

So Jared was right about his suspicions because it did appear that someone intentionally drugged Chris. However, the detectives were stuck on who because there were too many good suspects. There was the manager that Chris had fired just as he signed on to film Gold Storm, the mother who had acted as controlling manager until he fired her to hire someone more professional, and the ex-wife that Chris dumped after he got sober though there was only one person that had taken control of Chris’s entire estate right after he died. Chris’s ex-wife had moved herself in and was throwing a pool party at her late husband’s home when the cops finally caught up to her.

They had interviewed Sean and Chris’s mother Marsha, but Tina had been too busy at her party to return their calls. So the police had to gone over to the house to talk to her and funnily enough they found her taking drugs at the party. Tina had apparently been a heavy user herself so she had been the one that had turned Chris onto the scene and she wanted to get clean while he did.

Yet, Tina later revealed in questioning that she had nothing to do with what happened to Chris and she proved to be perfectly willing to hand over her special doctor’s phone number to help the police out. The doctor was considered a drug pusher to the stars so the detectives had thought that she would lead them to finding out who drugged Chris.

The doctor however had given them a surprising name. After the police had busted her in the act, she told them what they wanted to know and that she hadn’t sold anything to Chris. Though she had sold to a man that worked for Chris. So the dirty doctor revealed that she sold oxy to Jared and that meant Jared had access to the drug that ultimately killed Chris yet Jared had an explanation for that.

He said that he was the one that was taking drugs because the job was so stressful and he couldn’t stand Chris. And that they could test his pee right there because he had taken oxy that morning to get over the fact he had been fired by the production company.

Jared explained that he got paid after every episode. So he couldn’t even get compensation for all the work he did for Chris because Chris had died before official filming and the studio had already replaced him with a lookalike. But while he was complaining, the detectives realized they never pursued that angle and so they looked into the second actor. Who had actually turned out to be a spitting image of Chris’s.

The strange thing about this new guy though was the fact that Chris’s former manager who had helped Chris buy his house and had sent Chris to rehab this last time was also the new actor’s manager. So the detectives called Sean back in and allowed him to believe that they were going to discount what he did because it was an accident.

They told Sean that he probably just wanted Chris to fail the studio’s drug test as revenge because he had been cut out of the deal at the last minute so Sean ended up confessing to what he thought was a lesser charge. Only to find out that he had been tricked and that the detectives found proof that he intentionally meant to kill Chris.

So Jared, while flawed, had been doing his job when Chris was murdered. But Flynn told him that if he needed help getting sober and staying sober that his door was always opened. Flynn had already told Rusty that addiction was a hard thing to pull yourself out of and that there wasn’t a cure so he had at least helped Rusty if not Jared. Rusty had been feeling guilty about his biological mother putting her baby up for adoption because she knew that Rusty wouldn’t be happy with her risking another child.

Yet, Rusty was now wondering if he had been too hard on her by convincing her that she shouldn’t have anything to do with the new baby once it was born.

The End!
