Tonight’s episode of Rizzoli & Isles kicks off with Maura receiving a phone call late at night for a homicide – she grabs her bag and rushes to the scene. But, when she arrives there is no one at the abandoned shop. A man grabs Maura from behind and they have a struggle – Maura puts up a good fight, but he knocks her out with a rag soaked in chemicals and drags her away.

Maura dropped her phone before she was knocked out – Jane and Frankie have her Maura’s phone tracked to the fake crime scene. Jane is having a meltdown when she realizes that Maura has been kidnapped. Korsak reassures her that they have roadblocks set up everywhere and they are going to find Maura. Frankie looks at Maura’s phone and realizes that the last phone call she received telling her about the fake crime scene came from their police department. Jane tells Frankie to find out who from the police station called Maura ASAP.

Hours go by and the kidnappers don’t reach out – Jane is freaking out because if they wanted ransom, then they should have called by now. Janes mom shows up with sandwiches for her and Frankie. Jane’s mom is just as torn up as everyone else over Maura missing. She leaves a sandwich for Korsak too before she heads home.

They find a few drops of blood at the crime scene – it came back O positive, which means that it is not Maura’s blood. Jane is certain that Maura made the kidnapper bleed on purpose to give them a clue as to who took her. The problem is – whoever’s blood it is isn’t in the computer system. Meanwhile, Maura wakes up in what appears to be come sort of abandoned building and she is handcuffed to a pipe.

Korsak and Jane are questioning all of the dispatchers – Jane is certain that someone on their team sent Maura to the fake crime scene. Sgt. Miller remembers that last week a young girl called him and said that she was doing a school report on the 911 system and asked him a ton of questions about how they send people to crime scenes. Holiday tracks the phone call and it came from a burner phone – but at least now they can confirm that it wasn’t an inside job.

Jane gets called down to the lab – they found some paint chips at the crime scene and they have lead in them, the paint was only used in government buildings. If the paint fell off the kidnapper’s shoes – then there is a good chance that the kidnapper is holding Maura in an old government building that was painted before 1975. Jane says that it’s a stretch – but right now that is really all they have to go by. Jane heads back to her office to go over some Lianne Sampson case files – she wants to make sure that there is no way that Lianne is linked to Maura’s disappearance. She falls asleep and has a nightmare that Maura’s body is in the morgue.

Frankie and Korsak are looking through boxes full of city files to see if they can find the building that matches the paint samples that they got from the lab. Meanwhile, Holiday has good news – she searches all of the phones that were pinging off the tower close to where Maura was kidnapped. One of them came back as registered to a man named Harris – coincidentally he works at the prison and was Lianne’s psychiatrist.

Meanwhile, Maura is working hard to get free. She manages to get her handcuffs off from the pipe on the wall – but realizes there is no way out of the room. While she is searching for a way out, she hears someone coming. She makes a weapon out of a piece of a chair and pretends to chain herself back to the pipe.

Jane rushes to the prison but the warden says that Harris is gone – he left a few hours ago. She gives Jane permission to search Harris’s desk – and she finds something strange in the drawers. Jane calls Frankie and tells him that Harris is definitely their guy, she orders the warden to find everything she has on their prison therapist.

Harris returns to the abandoned building and introduces himself to Maura – she demands to know what he wants from her. He cuts off a huge chunk of Maura’s hair and then begins rambling about profiling. Harris smacks Maura for biting hi the night before, and then proceeds to start taking photos of her with a digital camera.

Holiday runs a trace on Harris’s phone and finds out that he has been in the area of an old abandoned mental hospital – Jane and her team grab their coats and race there. Meanwhile, Harris is on the phone with someone from the prison, they tip him off and tell him that the police are on to him. He makes plans to meet the person at the end of the line at some sort of secret tunnel, then he hangs up and smashes his phone so that it cant be traced anymore. Harris grabs the rag and knocks Isles out with some more chlorophorm and leaves – little does he know, Maura is awake and she is just faking it.

A few minutes later Korsak and Jane arrive at the mental hospital – they barge in to the room where Maura was being held hostage, but she is gone. Jane knows she was there though because she can smell her perfume. Korsak and Jane are baffled – they don’t understand why Harris has kidnapped Maura, or why he moved her. Maura left a note for Jane in the room, it says “tunnel.” They realize that Harris must be trying to move Maura out of the building through an underground tunnel.

Jane and Korsak continue searching the old asylum for the hidden tunnels – with Frankie’s help they finally locate the underground tunnel. They find Maura crouching in the corner of one of the underground hallways – and Korsak helps her out of the building. Jane goes on to find Harris – Maura tells her to be careful because Harris is not working alone. Jane hears gun shots and races to find Frankie, he’s fine – but some of the tunnel collapsed on him and he’s stuck. He tells Jane to go on and find Harris, he will be fine.

Jane continues on alone by herself after Harris – they head back up above ground and Jane finds Harris on the roof. She and another cop both shoot Harris and he drops to the ground, he’s in bad shape. While he is fighting for his last breaths, Jane demands to know why he did this. Harris laughs “Why not?” and then he dies. Jane heads down to the ambulance to check on Maura. She warns Jane that she heard Harris on the phone and he has an accomplice – this isn’t over.

THE END!
