#ShadesOfBlue starts with Loman holding up his badge as other cop cars pull up. They get out with guns out and he says he’s the one who called it in. Robert calls Baker who says the cops are coming. She tells him there’s a casualty at the armored car.

Tess is in pain and Marcus says no hospital. One of the armored car drivers is there too. Carlos says they will get her to the doctor. The dirty car driver complains about his wound too. Chen wonders what to tell the kidnapped guy’s wife.

Robert gets out and is told that there’s a head wound and a plainclothes detective called it in. The cop says he doesn’t know. Woz says Loman will give them up but Harlee says she protected him so he’ll protect them but Woz doesn’t think so.

He wants Linda to take Cristina and run but Harlee says they stay the course, deliver the cash and gets answers from Linklater and Donnie. Their car is hit from the side, t-bones them and the car flips. Harlee comes to and someone is checking her pulse.

Woz drags her out of the wreck and she freaks. He says someone took the money and it was someone who knew what they were doing and says they stole the money. They run off. They go see Dr Isaiah and Marcus wants him to work on Tess first but he refuses since her wound is superficial.

Harlee and Woz come into a pharmacy and tell the guy they’re cops and show their badges. They ask him to lock up and they grab some gauze. Loman talks to Robert and says he called it in then went to the body and checked his vitals.

Robert says he was following the armored truck because of a murder investigation. He says they were wearing masks. Chen calls and says the GPS tracker is at the site of a hit and run and he asks if it’s a blue sedan like Loman described. It is but she says the money is gone.

He’s furious and throws the other guy’s phone. Robert tells Loman that lying to the FBI is a federal offense. He has Loman cuffed and tossed it into a car. Woz thinks it was Donnie that hit him. He says the $3 million wasn’t enough for Donnie since he was short on a real estate deal.

Linklater calls Woz and says the FBI is swarming the hangar. Woz says there’s a dead body at the armored car and he’s not sure which driver. He says way to vet your people. Woz says someone hit them and stole the money and it’s all gone.

Linklater thinks he’s lying and Woz says he’s going to kill Donnie when he sees him. Linklater says Donnie wouldn’t do it and Woz says where is Donnie – he’s not there. Linklater says he’s texting them an address for them to meet him.

They give the pharmacist money and take his car keys and promise to return it. Carlos is digging around in Tess’s shoulder for the bullet while Isaiah works on the driver. Isaiah tells Carlos to get a scalpel and make one clean cut.

Marcus holds her while she screams and Carlos cuts into her shoulder. Harlee and Woz meet Donnie and Linklater and Donnie says he’s not bruised up so he didn’t hit them. But Harlee notices there is blood on his sleeve.

Woz says they drew down and shot at one of them. Harlee says his nephew was ID’d in a murder. Linklater says they will get his money. Woz says they don’t have it. Donnie says he doesn’t either. Linklater says find it in 24 hours and Woz says he has plenty on him.

Linklater slides an envelope over and shows them photos of him and Harlee with the kidnapped guy. Woz says they can play dirty and Linklater says find my money or you’re going down for all of this. Harlee says they can’t find what they don’t have.

He tells Harlee that he’s going to go check on Tess. Loman is with Robert who is hassling him to get him to say what he wants. Robert doesn’t believe the real estate killer. He says he and Tess are investigating it together and says call her at the 64th Precinct.

Robert says I wonder then asks why Tess wasn’t with him. He says he went to speak with Foster at his office but the dispatcher was acting odd so he went to find him on his route. Robert says he’s been tracking the crew that robbed the armored car and knew it was going down.

He says the people who did this abuse power and use loyalty as a shield. He says they think they’re righteous and untouchable but are neither and use people like Loman. He says they rope you in and then ruin your life.

Robert says he has them on tape planning the robbery and just needs a witness to place them at the scene. Robert asks again who he saw at the armored truck robbery. Baker tells Robert later they are getting screwed in this.

She says they didn’t catch them with the cash and the only way to stop them from losing out over this is to nail Linklater. Chen comes up and says Linklater went back to work. Tess is patched up when Woz shows up. She says she just needs to go lay down.

Carlos says the armored car guy is in the back and it’s messy. He asks if Woz did the drop. Woz says funny story then takes a call from Linda. She says the same car has driven past the house – she says it’s black with four doors. Woz says take Cristina and drive side streets to the hotel she knows.

He says go now and call me when you get there. She says he’s scaring her but he says he loves her and she calms down. Robert comes to the kink club and she confirms that Joaquin was who they were asking about. She says someone killed the neighbor guy and then her boss.

She mentions his partner and he lets her flip through some suspect pics on the phone. She picks out Donnie and he says that’s Joaquin’s uncle. She says she hopes not since she caught them blowing each other. Robert calls in to Baker and says he confirmed Loman’s story.

He says the end is a surprise. Harlee shows up to Baker’s office and says she needs to see Robert and says she has the wire. She holds it out. Baker tells Robert she has a surprise too.

Harlee waits for Robert and he says it’s two hours of silence. She says she wore it the whole time and says it was on. He says it was tampered with. She says she knows how this looks but she did what she was supposed to do.

She says they were en route to the air strip. He asks where the money went. Isaiah says the driver needs surgical follow up and Woz talks to him. He says he should have popped Woz instead of that bitch. Woz says two landlords ended up dead and he says his crew says he killed them.
Woz pops open a knife and says this will go bad. Joaquin says Donnie wanted to buy the two buildings. He says the fetish club guy would sell but the old guy would not. Joaquin says he wasn’t supposed to kill the guy. Woz asks why he killed the fetish club guy.

Joaquin says he freaked out so Donnie set up the old veteran to take the fall for it. Joaquin says that Donnie had to cover their asses because Woz is a good detective. Joaquin cries and says he’s never done anything like that before.

Woz tells him he’s in the right place for someone who has a burden. His stomach is bleeding and Woz tells him to calm down. Harlee tells Robert that Woz is convinced that Donnie took the cash. Robert says Donnie slit the kidnapped guy’s throat.

She says she pulled the GPS and put it in the car so he could track her. She says she showed up. Baker says they have Linklater and says when he knows that they have Harlee, he’ll give up the rest of the crew. She tells them they need her.

Robert asks why and she says that’s not Linklater. Isaiah says the guy is hemorrhaging and says he needs a surgeon. Woz says he’ll take them. Robert tells Harlee even without Linklater, he can take down Donnie and Woz.

Harlee tells Baker that Donnie may not even know Linklater’s real identity. She says if they round them up now, they have no money, no ringleader, only circumstantial evidence. She says Linklater gave them 24 hours to get the cash.

She says cut her loose to find the cash and she can put it in the room with Woz, Donnie and Linklater. Baker says that means they don’t get the rest of her crew and Harlee says they do it this way or their whole case is crap. Robert tells Loman he can go. Loman says he thinks Robert is one of those who likes to use and Robert says his face is guilty.

Harlee calls Woz and says she got them an alibi. She says they may get lucky and says Loman was picked up and released. She says she’ll check in with Loman later. Woz says Linda took Cristina to the hotel and says there was a car circling the house.

He says he doesn’t want their girls touched by this. Woz is on the way to take Joaquin to Mercy. She worries the guy will talk. Woz says tell Linda not to worry. Joaquin asks why they’re not moving. He says they are and says don’t talk.

He asks what Woz is going to say about the man he killed and Woz says they’ll make an arrangement, Joaquin says bad decisions are like dominoes then he starts coughing up blood and it spews from his mouth. He says his mom sent them to confession every Sunday.

He then says his mom used to knock them around and says he hated her. Woz says he had a daughter that hated him too. Joaquin says he doesn’t want to die. Woz holds the kid while they drive. Marcus says they’re here and tries to wake Joaquin but he’s not responding.

Marcus stops the van and Woz says just keep driving. Harlee shows up to the hotel room and says Woz is good and in command. Linda says Cristina is scared and confused. Cristina ignores her and looks at her laptop then Harlee shuts it and she sees her face.

She says they got rear ended but it looks worse than it is. Harlee says she didn’t mean to scare her today. Cristina asks why they had to hide out in a hotel and Harlee says someone suspicious was circling the block and Cristina says that sounds crazy.

Cristina wants to go home and Harlee says not right now and says maybe tomorrow. Cristina says she has school and traffic. Harlee says once they find Miguel then Cristina gets annoyed and says she knows she’s lying to her.

She says the parole officer thing is a lie and she called the DA’s office and they told her he doesn’t have a parole officer and was exonerated. Cristina calls her a liar and she asks if Harlee was even in a car wreck. Cristina says look me in the eyes and tell me what’s going on.

She asks where Harlee has been and why she’s been acting so shady. Harlee says it’s important and that’s all she can tell her. Harlee says she loves her more than her own life. Cristina cries. Harlee says stay here with Linda until she comes back. Cristina walks away from her mother.

The FBI drops Loman off and give him back his badge and phone. He’s back at the armored car scene and thinks about Woz and Harlee telling him it’s not what it looks like and to stand down. Loman walks up to the scene and flashes his badge.

He thinks about the shooting and the looks down at his badge. Harlee told him to put his gun down and he saw Tess was shot. Loman said they were all under arrest. Harlee says this is not our heist, this is Donnie’s.

She says Donnie found out about him shooting that innocent guy and they volunteered to do this for Donnie to protect him from the shooting charges. He asks about the murder at the real estate deal. She says Donnie probably did that too.

Harlee says you have to be there and says just tell the cops you called – tell them the truth about it all. She says just tell them we were wearing masks and almost made him on the way out. She says protect us like we’re protecting you. She says it’s up to you.

Now, Loman stands there crying and calls the precinct. He asks to speak to the captain. Harlee washes off in the bathroom and then opens her laptop. She records a message for Cristina. She says I am who you think I am even though I did lie to you.

Woz says his daughter died of an OD when she was 19. Then he stops and says she killed herself. He’s crying. He says right after they had a fight, she did it. He says he wanted to tell her she was wasting her potential and says he told her she was wasting space but didn’t mean it.

Carlos and Marcus dig a grave for Joaquin. Harlee tells Cristina on the video she wanted to be a good cop. Woz says he makes deals to keep drugs away from parks and schools. He says he thinks if someone did that before, his daughter might be alive now.

Harlee says she thought the end would justify the means but she’s at the end and can’t justify anything. She says compromises change and harden you and make it easier for next time. She says it happened so slowly she didn’t realize but so quickly she never saw it coming.

Harlee says all of it, Cristina, the good, bad, right and wrong, was for you. Cristina calls Miguel and she’s crying. Marcus and Carlos fill in the grave. Woz says he breaks rules, takes money, hurts people to protect people and is an NYPD bull in a Brooklyn china shop.

He’s in confession. The father asks if he’s searching for absolution. He walks out and says he can’t make confession yet because he has a couple of more people he needs to hurt. Harlee meets Caddie who has all the money – he’s the one who hit them and stole it.

He asks what’s next and she says now they can start calling the shots.

THE END!
