Adam’s family is on hand to help plants the tree – they all say something in honor of him as they toss soil on it. Danny goes on a rant about how pointless the tree ceremony is – he says next time they should do a shopping cart memorial because his brother loved those too.

Back at the house, Willa is questioning Ben about Adam. Their mom returns, she corners Willa and wants to know how much the DNA cost her. Willa stutters – Claire sneers “How much of my soul did you sell Willa.”

The FBI is investigating Agent Clements’ car crash. The FBI thinks he was drunk and just crashed and wandered off in to the woods. Meyer arrives at the scene, she argues that there is no way Clements was drinking on the job – she knows that someone kidnapped him, the same people that took Adam.

Meanwhile, Clements is being held in the basement, Jane is trying to feed him. He tells her that she doesn’t realize how much trouble she is in. Not only is she holding an FBI Agent hostage, but he isn’t doing well – his head injury is infected, he’s going to die there.

Back at headquarters, the disgruntled prisoner that was exhonerated is waiting for Meyer. Hank tells Meyer that he has evidence to find Clements and Adam’s kidnapper. He takes an old birdhouse out of a bag and says it is the key to cracking the case – but in return he wants the FBI to announce that he is the one that caught the monster they have been chasing.

Willia is working on Claire’s campaign and scrambling to get the reports. She gets a phone call from her girlfriend Bridey – who is actually sitting in her car down the street and watching her. Willa hangs up and greets a mystery man. Bridey snaps a few photos – the mystery man works at a Biotechnics Lab and has known Willa since college. Bridey rushes back to work and shows her boss the photos. She is on to Willa, she knows this lead will prove she faked the DNA test. She tells her boss she wants the front page of the paper.

Meanwhile, Claire and her family get a phone call from Meyer, she tells them that she is working on a new lead and she thinks she has found Adam’s kidnapper. Claire panics – she is afraid that the truth is going to come out if they find the real kidnapper.

In the basement, Jane is still taking care of Clements. She tells him that there was another boy there 12 years ago – his name was Eric.

Meyer shows up at the address of her new lead with FBI agents and a warrant, they search the whole house and it is empty. Meyer finds a shed in the backyard – they find a trap door that leads underground and they investigate, but that is empty too. It’s not the house where Clements is being held.

At the house in the woods, Jane is trying to make tea and crying. Her boyfriend Doug returns, and she drops the tea cup and cuts her hand. He tells her that he is going to get them out of this mess. Since she is pregnant, he doesn’t want her to go to jail and have them take the baby away. He tells her that she just has to stick by him a little bit longer and then he will get them out of this mess. Doug reminds her of the cute way she told him she was pregnant. Jane confesses that she just Googled “Fun ways to tell your boyfriend that you are pregnant.”

It’s Ben’s birthday – obviously they can’t celebrate it because it is not Adam’s birthday. Claire sits down with Ben and offers him the watch they were going to give Adam on his 18th birthday. Afterwards, Ben slips out and has a secret meeting with Doug. He tells them that Nina Meyers knows his name – and she is looking for him.

Bridey meets up with Danny at a bar – he tries to break things off with her and says that they “aren’t going to do this anymore.” He doesn’t want to hurt Willa, his sister is special. He doesn’t want anything to do with the mess that Bridey is making – he tells her to stop using his sister for whatever she is using him for.

John meets up with Hank – he wants to know how he knew about Doug. John tries to apologize for accusing him of hurting Adam, but Hank doesn’t want to hear it and he has nothing to say to the Warren Family.

Claire sits down with Nina at the FBI station, she wants a name, she wants to know who Nina is investigating. Nina demands to know who is living with Claire, because she knows that it is not Adam. She wants to know the truth – it could help them find Agent Clements. Claire reminds Nina that if she wasn’t sleeping with her husband instead of looking for Adam – Agent Clements would already have the kidnapper. She threatens Nina and warns that when she becomes Governor, she is losing her job and then storms out.

Willa finds Ben wearing the watch that was supposed to be for Adam and she freaks out on him. She screams and demands to know if he hurt Adam. Ben confesses that he did. He tells Willa he hated Adam, and he was tired of hearing him talk about his family.

Meanwhile, Jane’s water breaks and she is in labor. She doesn’t have a phone to call for help because Doug took it from her. Jane can’t go to the hospital because they will want to know her name and where she lives. Agent Clements has no choice but to help her deliver the baby in the basement. He talks her through it and she gives birth to a crying baby. Agent Clements is somber. He tells Jane, “I’m so sorry … it’s a boy.”

At the Warren house, they just finished dinner. Willa corners Claire in the kitchen – she confesses that she promised the DNA company all of the government contracts while her mother is in office. Willa obviously wants to tell her what Ben said earlier, but she chickens out.

Now that Jane and the baby are safe – Clements tries to get her to go to the house and get the key to set him free. Jane confesses that she can’t help him, when Doug left, he took the key. Clements settles for some whiskey instead.

Tonight’s episode of The Family ends with Bridey at home working on her article about Willa and the DNA company bribe. Meanwhile, at the FBI station, Nina gets the lab reports back from Doug’s house. There were traces of bee pollen, and she is convinced that it is proof that Clements was at the house. Doug walks in to the FBI station and turned himself in.

THE END!
