#VoiceBlinds starts with Blake telling Christina he’s devoting this season to messing with her and taking singers she wants. He says she’s going down and she laughs. First up is Tamar Davis from Texas. She was in the kid’s version of a girl group that became Destiny’s Child.

Her parents pulled her because they wanted her to focus on school and then she had to watch Beyonce and her other friends get famous. She sang in Prince’s house band. Through him she met Tyler Perry who told her to audition for The Voice.

Tamar sings Chain of Fools and Christina turns almost immediately. Blake slaps his button at the last minute and Christina is shocked and angry. She says no, no, no. Blake asks how come the others didn’t push and Christina says he doesn’t know what to do with that.

Tyler Perry is there with her. Christina says Blake doesn’t even know who Tyler Perry is. Pharrell says her range is crazy. Adam says she has so much ability and makes smart choices and says Christina is the coach for her. Blake tells her about a backup singer he coached to a Voice win.

Tamar chooses Christina. Blake gets a consolation hug. Tyler congratulates her and so does her family. Brit Jessica Crosbie is up next and she’s living in Atlanta to pursue her career in music. She’s doing Viva La Vida by Coldplay. All but Blake turn early on.

Christina says she thinks she needs to push herself higher and says she can do great on her team. Jessica geeks out over Adam and says he can work out her nerves issues. She chooses Pharrell which was a crushing blow for Adam who thought she’d pick him.

Justin Whisnat from Oklahoma is next and he talks about being raised by his grandparents. Justin does Ain’t Worth the Whiskey by Cole Swindell. Adam turns first after giving Blake a look. Blake turns and Adam rages.

When Adam hears he’s from Oklahoma, why bother. He tells Justin just go and then says he thought he was ridiculously good and says he saw it first before that dude turned. Christina applauds him and says Justin has laces on his shoes, tattoos and suspenders.

Blake says Adam should be used to losing country artists to him by now as Justin chooses Blake. His grandparents are thrilled that he got Blake. Blake asks Adam why he does this to himself. Adam mocks his accent and then says it’s “team Blake” every time.

Jackie Lipson from Connecticut is next and she loves blues and ballads. She talks about her weight struggles as a kid. She went to college in New York, lost 100 pounds and is trying to make a living as a singer. She’s doing Elle King’s Exes and Ohs.

Pharrell starts to press his button then stops. She got no chair turns but was really good. Blake says they all thought about it and says there were some pitch issues. Christina encourages her to come back with another song. Pharrell says her voice is strong but she needs more control.

Daniel Passino is next and he’s a huge Christina fan and says people say he sounds like her. He took opera. Daniel sings Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth. Christina turns early on and is furious when Blake turns at the last minute and she screams that she was first.

Adam says the look on Christina’s face… Blake says let’s get it on and says that big falsetto note made him hit the button and says he’s a fan. Adam says Blake is dumb. Christina calls Blake a copycat. He tells her about his opera training and Blake says he’s a member of the Grand Old Opera and Christina mocks.

Blake says he’s superhero who saved the day so he’s not stuck with Christina. But Daniel goes with Christina and says she’s been an idol of his for years. She goes to hug him. Christina says his diverse interests makes him great.

The coaches sass each other. Owen Danoff is up next and he lives in Greenwich Village. His dad wrote songs for John Denver including Take Me Home Country Road. His dad’s band did Afternoon Delight – OMG major song from the 70s!

Owen is hoping to work with Pharrell. He’s doing Don’t Think Twice It’s All Right by Bob Dylan. Everyone but Blake turns early on. Blake turns as well. It’s the first four chair turn of the night. Adam flatters him and says he wants to work with him.

Christina says it was so meaningful. Blake says he never gets to work with songwriters like him on this show and says it’s a lot like country music and asks him to just consider him. Pharrell talks to him and Adam calls him sneaky. Owen ends up choosing Adam who is thrilled.

Postal worker Maya Smith is up next. She talks about how she used to be really shy then tried karaoke and now performs at night. She’s hoping Pharrell or Christina choose her and is singing Do Right Woman, Do Right Man by Aretha Franklin.

Pharrell turns and she’s thrilled. Christina turns at the last second. Christina says she could give her great song choices and then she has to admit that Pharrell would also be good. Pharrell says Christina laid out barbed wire for him and then starts his pitch. She goes for Pharrell.

Nolan Neal from Nashville produces artists and plays gigs to support himself. His parents were musicians and he was a roadie for them growing up then started writing songs at 18 and got a record deal with Virgin but then his dad shot himself to avoid jail time for a drug arrest.

His mom says Nolan went out of control after his dad died and struggled with substance abuse and couldn’t record so he was dropped from his deal. Then he went to rehab and is now six years clean. He does Drive by Incubus.

He got no chairs and Adam says it wasn’t the right song. He asks him to sing another and the guy does a Steven Tyler thing and kills it. Christina says it was their fault not his and tells him to come back again. Adam says he can’t believe it and they all are sorry they missed out.

We see Blake in his trailer practicing with his button and Christina steals it and runs off. He has a spare. Next up is Brittney Lawrence from Florida. She’s a Dixie Chicks fan and is a cheerleading coach. Her little pom pom waving students are really excited for her.

She’s singing Demi Lovato’s Warrior and says she’s tried out seven times before and this is the first time she got to the Blinds. She hits a big high note and Christina turns and Brittney’s mom starts screaming offstage.

Blake turns at the last second and aggravates Christina again. She says he keeps doing this to her. Adam says Blake has been doing this and is being really sneaky. Adam says there was a couple of pitch things but it was great and Pharrell says she has crazy power.

Blake says it’s perfect. Christina says that was a great song and she wants to be part of her magic. Blake says her voice has a great quality. Brittney chooses Blake which totally stuns Christina. Blake is thrilled and hugs her and she says he’s ginormous. He says she made his day.

Blake says there’s a rainbow coming out of his butt right now and goes to gloat over Christina. Then he tries to steal her drink and Christina says no cooties.

Blake also got Teresa Guidry and Chelsea Gann went to Christina in little snippets we see. Lily Green did Songbird and Adam scooped her up. Christina has 10 artists as of now. Pharrell has 10. Blake has 11 and Adam now has 9.

Next up is Matt Tedder from Texas who lives in Nashville now to focus on his music. He says he loves blues and started up his first band at 14. He gets by teaching, busking and any gigs he can get. He’s doing I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man by Muddy Waters.

Adam turns early on and is thrilled that no one else turned. He says that’s good news how stupid the other coaches are. Adam says he sings beautifully and then asks to hear more guitar and Matt kills it with an off the cuff performance. Pharrell is on his feet for him.

Adam says he’s blown away and stoked to have him on his team. Pharrell asks if he likes blues and Matt says it’s the root of all music. Adam says Matt is a great singer and he hopes he can dirty it up to fight in the battle rounds.

Next up is Joe Maye who got a blind audition last year and did Word Up but got no chairs. He was dancing and messed up his breath. He says he was sad and went back to bartending. Now he’s back to try again. Mark Hood and Ellie Lawrence are with him since they’re pals.

He sings I Put a Spell on You by Screaming Jay Hawkins. Christina turns early on. Blake turns at the end to vex Christina again. Christina says he’s her man and Pharrell remembers him from Word Up and says that was a great song choice.

Adam says he picked the right song and crushed it. Christina says Blake didn’t push the button and Blake says his team was full but she asks if that’s a lie and he says he can’t remember. Blake says he sang it like he was pissed and wouldn’t take no for an answer and says he put a spell on him.

Blake reminds them that Christina has never won and he has. Christina says that’s one of her favorite songs and Pharrell says go sing it with him. The crowd cheers and she says she needs a mic. They run up with one and Joe kneels to bow to her.

They sing together. They do an incredible spontaneous duet that kills. It’s a scream off. Even Blake has to stand and cheer. Like the Super Bowl of blues. They finish with a huge hug and now the other coaches are bowing to her. Joe shouts Oh My God. He picks Christina as his coach.

Adam gives Blake a consoling hug. Joe says he can’t believe he got to sing a duet with Christina Aguilera. She says she had so much fun singing with him. Blake says he’s so proud and happy for the kid to get to do that with Christina. He says it wouldn’t have been any better if they rehearsed it for a month.

The crowd chants Christina’s name and she pokes fun at Blake. What an amazing night.

THE END!
