Thomas Gibson Attacked Criminal Minds Writer Out Of Self Defense - Actor Wrongfully Fired, Plans Giant Lawsuit To Reclaim Job?

Thomas Gibson is not the only one with anger management issues on the set of Criminal Minds. The actor’s claim of self-defense during the incident that got him fired just may be true. Shocking new details about the writer who was involved in the altercation that led to Thomas Gibson being fired from Criminal Minds have come to light and it looks like the writer may be the one who was the aggressor—and Thomas Gibson is ready to sue to get his job back, TMZ reports.

Thomas Gibson, who has played Aaron Hotchner on Criminal Minds since 2005, was first suspended and then fired from the hit show, following an incident with one of the show’s writers. Thomas Gibson had a disagreement with writer Virgil Williams that turned into a physical altercation when Gibson kicked him.

From the beginning, the actor has alleged that the writer became “aggressive” and that he kicked Virgil Williams in self-defense. In a shocking twist, sources revealed to TMZ that Virgil Williams has a history of violence and anger issues on set, specifically against a female PA on the set of ER.

In addition to being a writer on ER, Virgil Williams was also a player for the show’s softball team. When he learned that a 22-year-old female PA was going to replace him on the softball team, he called her into his office and threatened to ruin her career and to kill her. Virgil Williams was then suspended from the show and ordered to take anger management classes.

This new evidence certainly gives credence to Thomas Gibson’s claims that the writer was aggressive and that he kicked Williams in self-defense. It is amazing that the network fired Thomas Gibson for a physical altercation with a man that they knew had a prior history of violence and anger on set, especially in light of Gibson’s claims that he acted in self-defense.

If Virgil Williams will threaten a young woman’s life over something so trivial as playing on a softball team, there’s no limit to what will incite the unhinged man to violence. Thomas Gibson was absolutely fired unfairly and hopefully once he slaps the network with a wrongful termination suit he’ll not only get his job back, but will walk away with a considerable amount of cash.

Tell us what you think about the latest evidence in the Thomas Gibson firing below – should executives have fired the writer as well, or taken Thomas Gibson’s claims of self-defense more seriously in the first place?
