Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to the hospital on Monday February 8, and is currently preparing to undergo surgery. The iconic actress just celebrated her 99th birthday on February 6, but it looks like there wasn’t anything too happy about the big day. Zsa Zsa’s health has been steadily deteriorating for years, and seems to be getting worse.
According to a report from TMZ, Gabor was rushed to the hospital due to an infection in her lungs from a feeding tube – and they are currently preparing for Gabor to undergo surgery to have the tube removed.
The website spoke to Zsa Zsa’s husband Frederic von Anhalt, who explained that the doctors visited their house and tried to remove mucous from Gabor’s throat to fix the problem, however they were unsuccessful and had to head to the hospital.
Zsa Zsa Gabor has made more trips to the hospital over the past few years than we can even keep track of. The woman truly is resilient. For those of you who weren’t aware, the actress actually had to have one of her legs amputated back in 2011 – due to medical reasons. Despite whatever curveball the doctors throw at her next, she manages to keep hanging in there.
Nobody wants to spend their 99th birthday (or any birthday) in the hospital – and of course the fact that Zsa Zsa’s age is really getting up there only makes surgery more dangerous. Gabor has not been spotted in public in years, except for the doctors and hospital staff, and her husband – of course, nobody even sees her!
