Angelina Jolie was spotted taking her son Pax Jolie-Pitt to dinner on what looked like a very lonely Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14. The duo dined at the Beauty & Essex restaurant in Los Angeles. Pax’s siblings, Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox were nowhere in sight.
A lot of Angelina Jolie’s fans can’t help but wonder why the Hollywood actress would just take her one son Pax to dinner with her. After all, it was Mother’s Day and surely, the rest of her children would want to spend the day with her, too. But that wasn’t the case. Angelina looked visibly upset while she and Pax tried to make their way out of the restaurant.
Of course, no one knows why Angelina Jolie would take just one child out to dinner with her. Most mothers would want to be surrounded with their nearest and dearest on Mother’s Day. There’s a possibility that the Hollywood actress simply wanted to spend some one-on-one time with her son Pax or her other children might have been with their father, Brad Pitt.
If Brad Pitt did have the kids on Mother’s Day, that’s a bold move on his part. He was miserable when Angelina Jolie took the kids on both Thanksgiving and Christmas Day last year so he might be trying to get back at her by refusing to be flexible about their custody agreement on Mother’s Day.
With that being said though, this hasn’t been an easy year for Angelina Jolie. For the most part she’s been trying to stay out of the spotlight. Brad Pitt accused her of being out of control and unhinged for not agreeing to keep their divorce and custody battle court documents sealed from the public. Angelina probably didn’t realize that airing her family’s dirty laundry would eventually hit her where it hurts the most – her ego.
Then again, no one knows what the real truth is behind closed doors except for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie themselves. Yet, there’s no denying that Angelina looked anything but happy during her outing with Pax. Clearly, this wasn’t a Mother’s Day that she’ll want to remember.
