Is Carole Middleton worried that James Middleton won’t be able to marry up like his sisters Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton? That’s what we can’t help but wonder as James Middleton is struggling these days both personally and professionally.
New reports indicate that Carole Middleton can finally sleep well at night knowing that her daughters Kate and Pippa managed to climb London’s social ladder by marrying men with status and power. After all, Kate is married to Prince William, who just happens to be the future King of England. And Pippa didn’t do too bad herself. She married financier and multi-millionaire James Matthews in May. Both daughters managed to marry up rather than down.
Unfortunately, James Middleton hasn’t been as lucky as his two sisters. He’s had an on-again, off-again relationship with British television personality Donna Air. They’ve been together since 2013 but unlike Prince William and James Matthews, Donna Air doesn’t come from a wealthy family. In fact, she’s not even an A-list star in Britain. She’s only managed to star in a handful of forgettable television shows and appeared on a few reality competition programs.
Many royal observers can’t help but wonder if Carole is feeling frustrated with her son James. She would love to see all three of her children married to the right kind of people. Even though James Middleton and Donna Air have been together for several years now, it doesn’t look like they are getting married anytime soon. James hasn’t even proposed to her yet which means that he probably doesn’t picture the two of them sharing their future together. And while no one really knows just how happy Kate and Pippa are in their marriages, at least they are married to men with power, money and social status.
With James though, it’s a whole different story. He doesn’t have power and he’s financially struggling with his marshmallow printing company business. And even though he’s connected to the British royal family thanks to his sister Kate, the media largely ignores him. If that weren’t enough, dating someone like Donna Air sure isn’t helping his social status, either.
So far James Middleton hasn’t said anything about his future marriage plans or about his relationship with Donna Air for that matter. Still, this has to be troubling for someone like Carole.
