Matt Simmons is adjusting to be on the BAU. He had transferred from the International Response Team and was used to be away from his family for long periods of time however the BAU allowed him to be closer to his family and his wife appreciates having a husband around the house. But Simmons joining a new team meant he carried over his impressive skillset and therefore it wasn’t long before he started to contribute. Simmons and the others had gotten a new case in Detroit and the Unsub showed a concentrated interest in torture and sexual mutation. So Simmons suggested they looked into the Caldean Mafia.

The Caldean Mafia worked in that region and they often used torture as well as public display to get their point across. However, Simmons believed that members that could have done some work for the mafia might have then gone out on their own to kill the victims seeing as the crime scene did look professionally done. The victims – Curtis Wyler and Darrel Forrester – had both been tortured and castrated yet they had been killed somewhere else and left to hang on meat hooks. So Rossi did see how the job could be done by a psychopath who’s done this before and the team started to act on Simmon’s profile because they had nothing else to work with.

There hadn’t been any DNA at the crime scene and there was nothing to connect Curtis to Darrel. The two men didn’t work in the same field and one of them had been married with while the other had been a DJ bachelor up all night. Yet, something the team did find were peculiarities in both men’s back accounts. They had each been withdrawing thousands of dollars every month and Cutis’s wife hadn’t known where the money was going because she had been afraid to ask. So Prentiss had asked Garcia to look into a possible escort service both men might have used and that turned out to be the common denominator.

Though it truly were just her clients that were being targeted. There had been a third body that was later found and he took had had a “relationship” with Kimberly. So that had finally made Kimberly worry for her own life and so Prentiss assigned someone to guard her. The first shift had gone to Simmons and he found Kimberly’s behavior to be unusual. She had acted quite scared earlier in the day and had then tried to sleep with Simmons once everyone else had left however, while that had been suspect, what her mother did had been much worse. Janel Desmond had talked to the team and she had lied to them.

Janel told the others that they didn’t have any male relatives much less relatives besides each other and she then she had wanted to know they were asking. However, Prentiss and Alvarez had said that they just wanted to see if they should extend protection to anyone when really they wanted to see if the Unsub felt like he was protecting Kimberly. So Janel had lied when she repeated they didn’t have anyone and the lie came out when the team found the actual crime scene. The Unsub had torched the crime scene where he had killed the men and there the team had found evidence that he had been connected to the Caldean Mafia.

Their insignia had been on the floor and its probably where the Unsub used to take his former victims, but the area had been old as it was and the police found another body while they were there. They found the body of Cynthia Hendricks and Cynthia it turns out was Kimberly’s biological mother. She disappeared right around the same time her boyfriend went to prison and, with the boyfriend being the Unsub, he was identified as Gabriel Merza. Gabriel had killed her and had given the custody of his daughter over to his sister Janel. But Janel tried to distance herself from her brother and had changed her name as well as claimed she didn’t have any male relatives.

Janel has been taking care of Kimberly since almost the beginning and she never wanted her to find out the truth or the type of person Gabriel was. Yet, Gabriel had left his daughter alive while he had killed his girlfriend and so she meant something to him. So when he got of prison and found out she sold her body, he began hunting down the men she slept as a way to take care of her as her father though the team knew his affection for Kimberly would change in an instant if she were to reject him except they hadn’t been able to get to either Kimberly or Janel in time to stop Gabriel from kidnapping them.

Gabriel was apparently so sick in the head that he thought kidnapping them and forcing them to be a family with him would make them accept him. Though neither Janel or Kimberly wanted him in their lives. They were scared of him and were trying to escape from him when the team later found them at Gabriel’s old house. So the team saved Janel and Kimberly, but its going to be a while before either of them can recover from their ordeal and so it was a good thing that Gabriel wasn’t going to get out of prison in their life times.

THE END!
