General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate time is running out for Alex Devane (Finola Hughes) and she’s about to be busted for masquerading as her twin sister Anna Devane (also Finola Hughes). It was a close call on the Monday, May 1 show when Alex ran into Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and had no idea who he was. Nathan seems to be someone she’s not been briefed on, but that close call was just the start.
Both Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) and Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) suspect something is off with Anna. Andre was horrified when he caught Anna eavesdropping on Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and Anna rushed an explanation of his lackluster WSB clearance to hustle him off the subject and out of her house. Plus, General Hospital fans notice that Alex seems to disappear when guests show up at her house.
“Anna” did this with Andre and we’ve seen her do it with others. It seems that Alex answers the door and then runs to consult her notes or database to see who she’s talking to and how well they know Anna. The only person Alex never does this with is Valentin – but why is he the exception? It’s because Alex knows Valentin. General Hospital buzz is that she was the one interacting with him at the WSB when he gave her the confidential info.
GH spoilers hint Anna wasn’t even in the picture at that point. Anna was with Valentin at the training academy and she was the one who turned the hunchback down for a kiss. But it was Alex that used her wiles to get Valentin to hand over WSB data and she was the one that took out the kill order on him and slept with him. And it’s Alex toying with Valentin now and setting him up.
Alex doesn’t work for the WSB or any law enforcement agency. General Hospital spoilers tease that it seems likely she’s in Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) pocket and is there uncovering Valentin’s secret to use on behalf of the DVX cartel once again. Griffin and Andre have another talk soon about Anna’s strange behavior and when Griffin learns she’s skirting the law, he goes to see her and that’s when Griffin figures out the ruse.
Griffin corners “Anna” and pinpoints her on questions that she can’t answer but should be able to if she was Anna. General Hospital spoilers say that when Alex fails his test, Griffin will demand to know who this imposter is and where Anna is at. It seems that Anna has missed her cancer treatments because Alex panicked and called to schedule one when it was mentioned the other day. It’s likely Anna is still in Port Charles and even in her own home.
However, it’s Alex that is running the show. Once Alex is cornered, she’ll have to come clean to Griffin but expect a pack of lies to come from her. Alex will tell Griffin she’s there helping Anna since her twin is sick but that won’t satisfy Griffin. He will demand to see Anna and this request could put Griffin’s life at risk too. How far will Alex go to keep her masquerade going? Will Griffin wind up on lock down with Anna?
