General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason (Steve Burton) and Drew (Billy Miller) have plenty of great material coming up. The twin mystery has brought many twists, revelations and fantastic drama. GH fans can’t wait for more, but the storyline has led to some controversy. After Burton was revealed as the true Jason Morgan, some of Billy Miller’s supporters were outraged.
There are several different opinions out there. Some people love both actors and just want to see them on screen, no matter who they’re playing. Others feel like General Hospital got it right by choosing Burton as the real Jason. He held the role for decades and his dramatic return wouldn’t have been as powerful if Burton had been Drew.
Still, some viewers believe Miller was snubbed. They think it was disrespectful to throw Miller this curveball because Burton decided to come back. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Miller weighed in on the uproar. He wanted to set the record straight and hopefully calm any angry fans.
“I wouldn’t be there if I was being disrespected,” Miller said. It seems he’s embracing the wonderful opportunities this story has given him. Miller lost the Jason title, but he gained major airtime and tons of powerful moments to play. Drew is just as important as Jason in all of this. It takes both twins to play this plot and Miller is doing an awesome job with his part.
Miller suggested that the intriguing nature of the twin tale convinced him to stay. “I wouldn’t stick around if it wasn’t really cool,” Miller said. GH watchers are certainly glad Drew will remain in Port Charles. General Hospital spoilers hint that Drew and Sam (Kelly Monaco) will have to tackle some tough issues in the coming weeks.
Speaking of Sam, her portrayer also spoke out about Burton’s return. “It’s the last thing that I, Kelly, expected,” Monaco said. “But I’m super-excited to have Steve back.” GH spoilers say Jason and Sam grow closer soon, so “DreAm” and “JaSam” fans will have something else to battle over.
Based on other interviews and live chats, Monaco seems to be on “Team Drew.” However, the entire cast can surely appreciate the ratings spike and all the buzz this has generated. Burton’s comeback has clearly been good for the show.
