General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Michael Sutton will be reprising his role as Stone Cates. Although Stone was only on the ABC soap opera for 2 years in 1993- 1995, he became an iconic character that GH fans fondly remember.
Stone Cates will always be the troubled young man that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) took in, caring for him as an older brother. Stone fell in love with Dr. Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberly McCullough); they had an epic love story that ended when Stone succumbed to AIDS, leaving Robin to deal with her HIV positive diagnosis on her own.
General Hospital spoilers reveal the last time we saw Michael Sutton as Stone was in 2010 when Robin was delusional and envisioned Stone being with her. It appears his return will be similar this time around when his surrogate brother Sonny falls on hard times and also will struggle mentally.
GH’s Stone Cates is probably one of the most memorable characters on the series as they have an annual celebration called The Nurses Ball, which is dedicated to fundraising and awareness of the AIDs and the research that is being done. Robin always seems to bring the best of us to tears when she talks about her and Stone’s love story and how much the disease truly effects us.
It is promising to be an interesting summer as Michael Sutton may be around for an extended period of time as General Hospital spoilers reveal he will be sticking around for a storyline throughout the month of August.
