General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal the secret about Steve Burton’s return to Port Charles as the one true Jason Morgan. Fans of the ABC daytime drama have been struggling since Billy Miller arrived as a recast as our beloved Jason and although some came to appreciate him in the role, others felt he was not acting like our Jason and now we know why; he’s not the real Stone Cold Jason, just his twin brother with a new face!
Remember when Dr. Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberly McCullough) found a man with Jason’s (Burton) face in the Creighton Clinic? She helped him escape firmly believing he was Jason but when they got separated, he was run down by Ava Jerome (Maura West), requiring facial reconstructive surgery; this Jason returned to Port Charles as “Jake Doe” (Miller).
What General Hospital fans didn’t see was Helena had both twins at the same time, one of them still frozen in another clinic. Helena was wise enough to know that she couldn’t keep the true Jason at the clinic but needed Robin around so she led Robin to believe her lifelong friend and one time lover was the “prize” for her work.
The tale of two Jasons is fairly easy to explain: as we have learned from Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) years ago, Susan Moore (Gail Ramsey) had given birth to twins, with Heather claiming to have stolen one and sold it. At the time, she insisted that Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) was Jason’s twin which proved to be a lie since Jason had an identical twin.
General Hospital spoilers reveal the reason Jason (Steve Burton) hasn’t left Cassadine Island yet is because he has a life of his own there. He has also been programmed by Helena, the master manipulator and has fallen for the woman with the dark hair, Daphne (Andrea Savo). Daphne is similar enough in his programmed brain to Samantha “Sam” Morgan (Kelly Monaco) – he could have been easily convinced she was his love.
The original Jason has made a life for himself on the island, even having a daughter, Athena (Jazmyn Skye Vale) while there. General Hospital buzz says his memories are becoming more vivid and although he is a strong family man, with his daughter keeping him there, he needs to figure out the life he has been missing and will head to Port Charles shortly, likely with Athena.
How will Jason react when he learns his wife is married to another man (his twin brother with a new face) and had a child with him? How will already deranged Sam react being torn between two men, both who think they are Jason and are identical twins? Sam has been obsessed with the curse Helena told her about years earlier, but she probably had no idea how bad it is about to get.
