General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Jason (Billy Miller) and Patient Six (Steve Burton) will face even more chaos next week. This hot plot is moving quickly and many fans are anxious to see what’s next. Since GH already had a Jason on canvas, reintroducing the old one came with some complications. That’s why we’re dealing with some craziness in Port Charles, but it’s working out well for the show.
In an interview with ABC Soaps in Depth, Maurice Benard (Sonny) offered his take on the twin mystery. Benard has been known to chime in with his thoughts on storylines and convince the writers to change them if need be. However, he admitted he doesn’t do that much anymore. Benard suggested that he only speaks up when a story is super strange.
Of course, the twin storyline is obviously one of the more ridiculous offerings on soaps right now. When asked about wild plots, Benard confessed that they’re not what he’d pick. “I’m not going to lie,” Benard said. “Those aren’t my favorite stories.”
It takes some work to buy what they’re selling, but the cast is doing a great job with all the twin turmoil. When the facts are outrageous, GH has to deliver authentic reactions and touching moments. Having the characters respond in a believable manner can go a long way. Realistic emotional fallout is crucial when things get crazy.
Benard seems to agree with that. “The challenge is to make it as real as it can be,” Benard said. “Sometimes, that’s more fun than the easier, straight stories. If you have to talk about aliens and people coming back from the dead, to play that truth can be hard.”
Fortunately, Benard doesn’t mind the tough task. Even when the stories are pretty out there, Benard manages to find satisfaction in his role. “That’s why I kind of like it — it’s an acting challenge,” Benard said.
General Hospital spoilers state that the rest of the twin drama will bring excitement and confusion. GH fans may have to put their thinking caps on as the mystery unravels, but that’s part of why this is so intriguing. It’s nice that the show can start guessing games and let viewers play along with the characters.
Bottom line, entertainment is the priority and GH is certainly bringing that. Are you enjoying this twisty storyline? We’ll give you updates as other General Hospital news comes in.
